Changsha Vocational College of Commerce, Trade and Tourism is a full-time public general college sponsored by the Changsha Municipal People's Government and guided by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It is located in the Changsha Vocational Education Base in Yuhua Economic Development Zone, Changsha. In the nearly 70 years of school-running history, it has established the school-running positioning of "based in Changsha and serving Sanxiang", and is praised by the society as the "Huangpu of Business" and "Cradle of Managers". In recent years, the school has seized development opportunities and achieved an overall leap. In 2015, it became one of the first eight excellent higher vocational colleges in Hunan Province. In 2019, it was successively recognized as a national high-quality higher vocational college (referred to as "national high-quality school") and a construction unit of the Chinese Characteristic High-level Higher Vocational School and Professional Construction Plan (referred to as "Double High Plan"). In July 2022, it was approved as a high-level higher vocational school in Hunan Province (A grade). In 2023, it was selected as a pilot college of the "Chuyi Craftsman Plan" in Hunan Province (the only municipal higher vocational college), and cooperated with Hunan Agricultural University to open an undergraduate major in "Food Science and Engineering". The school has 10 teaching departments, including Hunan Cuisine College, Hunan Business College, Hunan Tourism College, Accounting and Finance College, Cultural and Creative College, Software College, Marxism College, General Education College, Continuing Education and Training College, and Entrepreneurship and Employment Guidance Center, and offers 29+1 (undergraduate) majors. Hunan University of Science and Technology is a model school for party building in Hunan Province. The school's 2023 graduates have a graduation destination implementation rate of 91.24%, ranking among the top similar universities in the province.
