It was founded in 1984. In 2011, it was established as the first batch of education system reform pilot colleges by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government. In 2014, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2015, it was established as the first batch of application-oriented transformation and development pilot undergraduate colleges by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government. Over the past 40 years, the school has always adhered to the socialist direction of running schools, kept in mind the original mission of educating people for the Party and the country, implemented the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, and insisted on implementing the three-dimensional education concept of "sound personality + compound knowledge + practical ability". There are 19,719 full-time students and 1,209 faculty members, including 3 experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council, 1 provincial young and middle-aged academic leader, 5 provincial outstanding teachers such as Jiangxi Provincial Teaching Master, Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teacher, and Gold Medal Teacher, 3 provincial high-level undergraduate teaching teams, and 83.35% of full-time teachers have master's and doctoral degrees. The university has 35 undergraduate majors and 28 junior college majors, 2 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 provincial characteristic major, 39 Ministry of Education industry-university cooperation and collaborative education projects, 13 provincial first-class courses (including quality courses and online quality courses), 1 provincial first prize and 2 second prizes for teaching achievements, 1 national popular science education base, 1 provincial talent training model innovation experimental zone, 3 provincial popular science education bases, and 1 Nanchang key laboratory. The university focuses on open education, deepens the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, school-school cooperation, and international cooperation, actively explores innovation in talent training models, and conducts talent training cooperation with high standards. The school has co-built Alibaba Digital Trade Industry College, Huawei Kunpeng Industry College, Han's Laser 3D Printing Industry College, UFIDA Xindao Digital Finance Industry College, UAV Industry College and Electronic Information Industry College (Longnan) with Alibaba Group, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Han's Laser Intelligent Equipment Group Co., Ltd., UFIDA Group, Longnan Junya Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Zhihao Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., Gree Electric Appliances (Ganzhou) Co., Ltd. and Ganzhou Qianhai Digital Trade Technology Development Co., Ltd.; cooperated with Zhejiang University, Nanchang University and Nanchang Hangkong University in the construction of teaching staff, disciplines and majors, and curriculum; and cooperated with Keele University in the United Kingdom to hold majors such as "Big Data and Accounting" and "Big Data and Financial Management". The school follows the rules of applied undergraduate education and adheres to the connotation-oriented high-quality and characteristic development. Over the years, through the implementation of six quality projects, including "Teacher Moral Cultivation Project, College Students Quality Cultivation Education Project, Professional Cluster Construction Project, Large-scale Classroom Teaching Reform Project, Industry-Education Integration Collaborative Education Project, and Student Second Classroom Activity Project", the school has cultivated and formed the "three major characteristics" of running a school.
