The Naval Academy was founded in 1866. It is the first government-run higher industrial academy in modern China, with a history of more than 150 years. It is the birthplace of modern vocational education in China. The academy has trained a large number of talents with patriotic dedication and self-improvement spirits such as Yan Fu, Deng Shichang, Zhan Tianyou, Chen Jitong, and Sa Zhenbing, and has made special contributions to promoting the development of modern China's maritime power, education, and science and technology. The main campus of Fujian Naval Academy is located in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It currently has Shoushan Campus, Paixia Campus and Wuyi Vocational Education Park. It is a provincial public higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education. As the successor school of the Naval Academy, the school is a high-level school construction unit of the "China's Characteristic High-level Vocational Schools and High-level Majors Construction Plan", one of the first 28 "National Demonstration Higher Vocational Colleges", a key construction unit of the Fujian Demonstration Modern Vocational College Construction Project, and a national high-quality higher vocational college. It won the nomination award for the 3rd China Quality Award. The school fully implements the Party’s education policy, adheres to the moral education, closely focuses on the major strategies of the country and Fujian Province, adheres to the development positioning of “focusing on transportation, rooted in Fujian, radiating the whole country, and going to the world”, and actively serves the national strategy of “traffic power” and the construction needs of Fujian Province’s “four transportations” and “two systems”. Adhering to the school-running ideas of “based on transportation, serving the society, integrating industry and education, openness and tolerance”, and the school-running characteristics of “patriotism, strengthening skills, integration of industry and academia, excellence, and innovation”, it has formed a distinctive modern comprehensive three-dimensional transportation professional cluster with two “double high” professional groups of navigation technology and safety technology and management as the leader, and supported by transportation civil engineering, automobile application, general aviation, rail transportation, transportation services, machinery and intelligent manufacturing, information technology and smart transportation. The school insists on taking the “double high” construction as the guide, taking talents as the root of the school, deepening the connotation quality engineering, and building the major on the industrial chain. In recent years, students have actively applied for our professional volunteers, and the admission rate and registration rate are among the highest in the province's higher vocational colleges; the employment situation of graduates is encouraging, with the initial employment rate exceeding 99% for nine consecutive years, the employer satisfaction rate exceeding 95% for five consecutive years, and the overall satisfaction of graduates exceeding 90%. The school insists on brand-driven and quality-based school. The good brand effect has enabled the school to form a virtuous circle of high application rate, high admission score, high registration rate, high employment rate, and high employment quality. The teachers and students of the school participated in the National Vocational College Skills Competition and ranked first in the total group score among similar colleges in the province for five consecutive years.
