Sichuan Industry and Commerce Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public higher vocational college affiliated to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology. Founded in 1959, it was formerly the national key technical secondary school Sichuan Light Industry School (Sichuan Arts and Crafts School). In 2001, it was independently upgraded to a higher vocational college with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government. The school is located in Dujiangyan City, a world-famous "three heritage" city. It is a national high-quality higher vocational college, a high-level higher vocational college approved by Sichuan Province, a national model worker's home, an advanced collective in the national light industry system, a demonstrative higher vocational college in Sichuan Province, a civilized campus in Sichuan Province, a "great merit" unit for poverty alleviation in Sichuan Province's public institutions, and a pilot university for the comprehensive reform of "three-dimensional education" in Sichuan Province. It has established a national model branch for party building work and an advanced grassroots party organization in Sichuan Province. The school covers an area of more than 800 acres, with more than 12,000 students and more than 640 faculty and staff (42 professors, 128 associate professors, more than 100 experts selected at all levels and types, and 59 people serving in industry associations at or above the provincial level). There has emerged one national outstanding teacher, eight national ideological and political teaching masters, one Chinese light industry vocational education master, one first Sichuan Province "four-good" teacher, one Sichuan Province teaching master, one Sichuan Province outstanding teacher, and eight poverty alleviation and village assistance cadres have been commended by the provincial party committee and government. The two professional groups of food biotechnology and art design have been approved to build a provincial "A-level" high-level professional group (a total of 15 professional groups of the same level in higher vocational colleges across the province), and two vocational education undergraduate pilot projects have been carried out. The school has a total of more than 30 majors, of which food biology, product art design, and industrial and commercial enterprise management are national backbone majors; mechatronics, e-commerce, tourism management, software technology, printing media technology, and art design are provincial key majors. The school adheres to the characteristics of green light industry, pays attention to serving the local economy, integrating local resources, exploring a talent training model of co-construction between government, business, schools and enterprises, and simultaneous production, learning, research and innovation, and continuously enhancing the core competitiveness of vocational education. It has built one key laboratory of the National Light Industry Federation. The Light Industry Vocational Education Group, which was established in a leading manner, has been approved as a national vocational education group. It has also been approved as the first batch of demonstration projects for industry-education integration and modern industrial colleges in Sichuan Province, forming a typical case of national industry-education integration school-enterprise cooperation. It has built two national-level productive training bases: the Sichuan Industry and Commerce-Food Research Institute Food and Beverage Testing Center and the Jinshan HP Chengdu Big Data Innovation Application Base. The Dujiangyan E-Commerce College, co-built with the Dujiangyan Municipal Government, the National Engineering Laboratory for E-Commerce Transaction Technology, and the Beijing Zhongqingyan Information Technology Research Institute, supports Dujiangyan to become a national rural e-commerce demonstration county, and has trained more than 10,000 e-commerce skilled personnel for local and Tibetan areas. The only training base for young Marxists in colleges and universities in the province, the only Micro Focus authorized software testing training and certification center in colleges and universities in the country, the only talent training base in China's enamel industry, the education and training base for high-skilled talents in China's printing industry, the National Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Industrial Internet Talent Training Base, the National College Double Innovation Characteristic Training Base, and the provincial research and study travel practice camp settled in the school. In recent years, the school has vigorously promoted the three-dimensional education and five-dimensional education, and initial results have been achieved. Three teams were selected as the national summer "Three Going to the Countryside" social practice teams for college and technical college students, one of which was recognized as an outstanding team by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Education.
