Jiangxi Electric Power Vocational and Technical College is located in Nanchang, a historical and cultural city with "rich resources, outstanding people and beautiful scenery". It is one of the first batch of exemplary higher vocational colleges in Jiangxi Province, a high-level school in the second round of "Double High Plan" in Jiangxi Province, the only public full-time power-related higher vocational college in Jiangxi Province, and one of the 12 higher vocational colleges affiliated to State Grid Corporation of China, which ranks among the top three in the world's top 500 companies. The college was founded in 1958. Its predecessor was the Jiangxi Electric Power School, a national key secondary technical school under the ministry, and the Jiangxi Electric Power Workers University, a national advanced adult college. In 2002, it was renamed Jiangxi Electric Power Vocational and Technical College. The college implements a five-in-one, co-located management model with Jiangxi Electric Power Technician College, the Party School of the State Grid Jiangxi Electric Power Co., Ltd. of the Communist Party of China, the Nanchang Branch of the Party School of the State Grid Co., Ltd. of the Communist Party of China, and the Training Center of Jiangxi Electric Power Co., Ltd. There are currently five secondary colleges under it: the School of Marxism, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Power Engineering, the School of Power Supply and Utilization Engineering, and the School of Information Engineering. The college was awarded the honorary title of "National Outstanding Contribution Unit for Skilled Talent Training" by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China, and was successfully approved as a national high-skilled talent training base.
