The Shenqi National Medicine College of Guizhou Medical University was established in 2004 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is an independent college for full-time undergraduate education jointly organized by Guizhou Medical University and Guizhou Shenqi Group. The college currently has two campuses, Sunzilin and Huishui, covering an area of 732 acres, with a total school building area of 318,600 square meters. The library has a collection of 640,000 paper documents and 286,300 electronic books. The college recruits students from all over the country and currently has 7,000 full-time undergraduate students. Since its establishment, it has trained and supplied 14,000 professional talents of all levels and types to the society, providing talent support for the local economic development of Guizhou. The college adheres to the needs of local economic and social development and has formed a discipline and professional system with a reasonable overall layout and structure. There are currently 19 undergraduate majors, forming a discipline layout of coordinated development of science, economics, law, literature, management, medicine, etc. The college currently has 4 secondary colleges and 12 teaching units. There are more than 400 faculty members, including more than 300 full-time teachers, 38% of whom have master's and doctoral degrees, and 33% have senior professional titles. Since its establishment, the college has always adhered to the school-running philosophy of "teaching is the foundation of the school, and scientific research is the way to strengthen the school". In 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of Personnel, the Shenqi Postdoctoral Research Station, Guizhou Miao Medicine Engineering Technology Center, Reproductive Medicine Research Center, Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and other scientific research institutions were established. In 2020, with the approval of the 17th China Scientists Forum, the college established an Academician Expert (Innovation) Workstation, with 3-5 academicians stationed all year round to guide scientific research and talent training in the fields of life health and brain science. The college's scientific research team has undertaken more than 20 major national and provincial scientific research projects, published more than 200 high-quality papers, and obtained more than 20 provincial and ministerial scientific research results. Among them, the key technology research and application of "placental tissue and its extracts for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease" and "chicken embryo growth factor anti-aging" won the China Science and Technology Innovation Invention Achievements, laying a strong scientific research support for the development of the Shenqi College. The college adopts the mode of integrating industry and education and cultivating innovative talents, and has signed contracts with dozens of teaching practice and training bases. The college has invested in the construction of 4 secondary colleges, 19 undergraduate practice and training centers, and more than 100 laboratories to meet the needs of teaching. In April 2012, the college successfully passed the bachelor's degree awarding authority review organized by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, and the college obtained the bachelor's degree awarding authority and professional bachelor's degree awarding authority; in June 2013, the college successfully passed the provincial social organization level assessment organized by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Civil Affairs. It ranked among the top among the nearly 400 institutions participating in the assessment in the province and was awarded a 5A level unit by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Civil Affairs.
