Liuzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College is located in Liuzhou, a national historical and cultural city and the largest industrial city in Guangxi. It was founded in 1956. Its predecessor was the Liuzhou Railway Transportation School, a national key technical secondary school under the Ministry of Railways. From 1958 to 1962, it was upgraded to Guangxi Railway College and Liuzhou Railway College (undergraduate). From 1997 to 2007, it merged with the Liuzhou Railway Bureau Branch of Guangxi Radio and Television University, Liuzhou Railway Bureau Teachers Training School, Liuzhou Railway Driver School and Liuzhou Engineering Vocational and Technical School. In 2008, it was awarded the "Excellent" school in the evaluation of the talent training level of higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education. In 2009, it was renamed Liuzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College. In 2010, it was awarded the Guangxi Demonstration Higher Vocational College, in 2013 it was rated as a Guangxi Characteristic University, in 2014 it became the first batch of Guangxi high-end applied undergraduate talent joint training reform pilot units, in 2022 it was awarded the "Excellent" grade in the acceptance of the Guangxi High-level Vocational School and Professional Construction Plan, and in 2023 it was selected as a new round of high-level vocational schools and professional construction units in Guangxi. In the 68 years since its establishment, the school has trained more than 140,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for my country's railway modernization and local economic construction. It has trained a large number of technical and skilled talents, including Hou Shude, the "Railway Model of the Republic", Li Guiping, the chief technician of the railway, and Li Yong, the winner of the National May 1st Labor Medal, and is known as the cradle of technical and skilled talents in the railway industry in Southwest China. Guangxi Vocational and Technical College is located in Liudong New District, covering an area of about 1,000 acres and a building area of more than 330,000 square meters. It currently has 765 faculty and staff, including 427 teachers with a master's degree or above, 25 teachers who are studying for a doctorate or have a doctorate degree, and 261 teachers with associate senior titles or above; there are 7 national outstanding teachers, national model teachers, national technical experts, and Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award Outstanding Teachers; there is one "National Huang Danian-style Teacher Team in Colleges and Universities" (the only one in Guangxi Vocational and Technical College), one curriculum ideological and political teaching team of the Ministry of Education, and 5 high-level innovation teams and provincial and ministerial teaching teams in Guangxi colleges and universities; there are 11 secondary colleges, including the School of Continuing Education, the School of Marxism, the School of General Education, the School of Communications and Signals, the School of Transportation Management, the School of Power Technology, the School of Urban Rail Transportation, the School of Architectural Technology, the School of Automotive Technology, the School of Communications and Internet of Things, and the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, with 41 enrollment majors and about 16,000 full-time students. The school is the first batch of demonstration vocational education group (alliance) cultivation units of the Ministry of Education, and the pilot unit for the professional cooperation construction of industry-education integration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (2 pilot majors). It has carried out "2+1" directional training for 3,775 higher vocational students with enterprises such as China Railway Nanning Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Lanzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd., and Guangxi Coastal Railway Company. Together with member companies of the Guangxi Rail Transit Vocational Education Group, it has established a rail transit collaborative innovation center, actively serving small and medium-sized enterprises, and has won 1 provincial and ministerial-level maker space, 1 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology progress award, 711 national authorized patents, 216 horizontal technical services, and provided technical services for enterprises to develop 8 signal vocational education equipment, generating revenue of 120 million yuan. The school anchors the main direction of vocational education development, focuses on key points, and constructs a professional development pattern with railway majors as the main body and majors such as serving local traditional industries and strategic emerging industries as the two wings, realizing the integration of railway majors, railway majors and non-railway majors, and academic education and non-academic education. Based on both education and training, the school has built a "three-stage, alliance-type, and standardized" high-speed rail talent training model, created 15 high-quality training projects, and organized an average of 30,000 people to complete various types of vocational skills training each year, becoming a new benchmark for vocational education and training in the southwest region. Based on the characteristics of the industry, the school adheres to the "three-step" development strategy of internationalization work, and comprehensively promotes the construction of the "three fives" internationalization project, focusing on five countries including Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, focusing on the five major professional fields of railway transportation, urban rail transportation, new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, and artificial intelligence, and carrying out cooperation in five major aspects, including standards and certificates, courses and resources, enterprises and equipment, teachers and students, and models and promotion. Over the years, a total of 217 students have been jointly trained in academic education in majors such as transportation management with Thailand, Laos and other countries, and a total of 96 teachers have been trained in international teacher training courses with Thailand and other countries; connecting with the ASEAN Pan-Asian Railway Network, the China-Laos Railway, the Malaysia East Coast Railway, etc., and going overseas with Chinese high-speed rail technology peers to cultivate localized railway talents for ASEAN countries. Signed a cooperation agreement with the General Manager's Office of the Malaysia East Coast Railway Project of China Communications Construction to fully participate in the construction of the Malaysia East Coast Railway project. The "China-Malaysia Railway Modern Craftsman College" project jointly built with the University of Pahang, Malaysia, was selected as one of the first batch of China-ASEAN Modern Craftsman College characteristic projects in the autonomous region.
