Chengde Nursing Vocational College was founded in 1978 and was originally Chengde Health School. In 2010, it was upgraded to a general college of higher learning at the junior college level. The college adheres to the school-running policy of "taking service as the purpose, employment as the orientation, quality as the foundation, and promoting development with characteristics", and adheres to the school-running positioning of "based in Chengde, serving Hebei, facing the whole country, and going to the world". Among them, medical laboratory technology and stomatology technology are key majors supported by the state. The college actively adapts to the changes in the demand for talents in social development, and actively cultivates skilled talents in elderly health management and nursing. It has been identified as the national "Yaoyang Elderly Care" training base by the China Red Cross Society. The college has distinctive characteristics in running schools, and foreign nursing enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. It has cooperated with the South Bank Government Polytechnic in Australia, the City University of New York in the United States, the University of Leuven in Belgium, the Japan Kyoshin Group Co., Ltd., German elderly care institutions, and the China Red Cross Society's Business Development Center. The International Nurse Training Center of the college recruits students nationwide for training. The pass rate of IELTS training above 5.0 remains above 70%.
