Shanxi Jinzhong Institute of Technology (formerly the School of Information Business of North China University) was founded in 2002. In February 2021, it was approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China to be converted into an independent full-time undergraduate private general college. The school is located in Jinzhong City, the hometown of Shanxi merchants, with a total area of more than 1,000 acres and a construction area of more than 300,000 square meters. It has convenient transportation and is close to Jinzhong High-speed Railway Station and Shanxi University Town. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is nearly 100 million yuan. There are more than 70 practical new laboratories such as 3D printing, smart hardware cloud, enterprise panoramic operation AR training, and mechanical VR training center. The library has a collection of more than 1.14 million books, more than 140,000 kinds, and more than 1.36 million electronic books. There are more than 700 full-time and part-time teachers, including more than 220 senior titles and 52 senior talents returning from overseas. There are 16,580 full-time students. In recent years, the school has undertaken more than 110 provincial teaching reform and innovation projects and college student reform and innovation projects; it is a winner of the Shanxi Higher Education Excellent Shared Courses and Provincial Teaching Achievement Award; published nearly 520 papers, including more than 20 national core journals and more than 430 provincial and ministerial journals; independently compiled a number of textbooks. In recent years, students of the school have repeatedly won excellent results in various discipline competitions at all levels across the country. In 2023, our school won a total of 533 awards in various discipline competitions at all levels, including 21 provincial awards in super competitions; 47 national awards and 182 provincial awards in first-level competitions; 107 national awards and 109 provincial awards in second-level competitions; 1 national award and 66 provincial awards in third-level competitions. It also won the national championship and runner-up in the national finals of the Ruikang Robot Developer Competition. The school fully implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, takes the improvement of school-running concepts and the reform of the governance system as the driving force, takes the integration of industry and education as the starting point, focuses on the construction of the teaching staff, and focuses on professional construction, curriculum construction, classroom reform, and student development to build a distinctive high-level applied undergraduate college. Adhering to the school motto of "being prudent, erudite, and practical", it adheres to the purpose of educating people for the party and cultivating talents for the country. It has opened 6 major disciplines, mainly engineering, literature, law, economics, management, and art, and 41 undergraduate majors, forming a distinctive talent training system. At present, while serving local enterprises to cultivate talents for the regional economy, it has established more than 80 internship and training bases with economically developed regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. The school focuses on international and open education. We have cooperated with more than 100 schools in the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and other countries to carry out various undergraduate dual degree programs such as "1+2+1", "2+2", "1+3", as well as "3+1+1" and "4+1" undergraduate to master's degree programs. It is one of the "Top Ten Sunshine Study Abroad" bases in the country.
