Tangshan Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive higher vocational college in Hebei Province. The college has a profound educational heritage, which can be traced back to Tangshan Health School, which was founded in 1951. It has a history of 70 years. In April 2001, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial Government, the former Tangshan Health School, Tangshan Agricultural School, Tangshan Commercial School, and Tangshan Finance and Trade Cadre School merged to form Tangshan Vocational and Technical College. In 2008, the college passed the evaluation of the level of talent training in higher vocational colleges with an "excellent" grade; in 2010, it was identified as a model higher vocational college in Hebei Province; in 2018, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as a "National Defense Education Characteristic School" honorary title; in 2019, it was recognized by the Ministry of Education as a "National Quality Vocational College" and included in the "Double High" construction of Hebei Province. In 2020, the college successfully passed the diagnosis and improvement review of the internal quality assurance system of Hebei Province. Since the implementation of the "Double High" construction, the number of national-level projects obtained by the college ranks among the top 91 in the country, ranking among the advanced ranks in the country. The college is located in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. It currently has three campuses: Nanhu, Xinhua Road, and Hancheng. The campus covers an area of 701.56 acres and has more than 13,000 students. The college has won many honors, including the National Advanced Unit of Business Vocational Education Group, the Advanced Collective of Ideological and Political Education in Hebei Province, the Advanced Unit of Enrollment in Hebei Province, the Advanced Unit of Employment in Hebei Province, and the Civilized Unit of Tangshan City. The college has 8 teaching departments including the Department of Stomatology, Department of Nursing, Department of Clinical Medicine, Department of Finance and Economics, Department of Management, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Department of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering, as well as 5 teaching departments including the Basic Teaching Department, Basic Medical Department, School of Marxism, School of International Education Exchange, and Department of Physical Education. In 2023, 39 enrollment majors (including directions) will be opened, forming 6 major professional groups including stomatology, medical care, big data and accounting, intelligent manufacturing, new generation information technology, and smart agriculture. The stomatology professional group is a high-level professional group established by Hebei Province; 4 majors including garden technology, accounting, nursing, and computer network technology have been recognized by the Ministry of Education as the backbone majors of the "Action Plan for the Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education". The faculty strength is constantly improving. In the long-term practice of running schools, the college has created a "double-teacher" team of teachers with superb skills, noble teacher ethics, and a combination of full-time and part-time teachers. The college currently has 779 faculty and staff, 84 senior professional titles, 265 deputy senior professional titles, and 633 full-time teachers, of which 518 have a master's degree or above.
