Jiangsu Nursing Vocational College is located in Huai'an, the hometown of the great man, the capital of the canal, the capital of food, and the famous cultural city. The school was founded in 1958 as Huaiyin Medical College. Its history can be traced back to the Huaiyin Renci Hospital Nursing School founded in 1915. In 1962, due to the adjustment of the national economy, it was changed to Huaiyin Health School. In 2007, it was renamed Huaiyin Health Higher Vocational and Technical School. In December 2014, with the approval of the provincial government, Jiangsu Nursing Vocational College was established. It is a full-time public general college affiliated to the Provincial Health Commission. The school has two campuses, Huanghe Road and Keji Road, covering a total area of more than 800 acres. The Keji Road campus was planned and designed by Professor Wang Jianguo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Southeast University. It has won the first prize of the National Excellent Architectural Design and the first prize of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineering Design. There are more than 8,000 full-time students and more than 400 full-time teachers, of which 75.46% have master's degrees or above, 85.36% are "double-qualified" teachers, and 18 provincial talents such as the provincial "333 high-level talents" and "Qinglan Project". It has jointly organized the "3+2" higher vocational undergraduate modern vocational education system through training project with Nanjing Medical University, Xuzhou Medical University, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and other universities. It has 18 majors including nursing, traditional Chinese medicine, preventive medicine, midwifery, rehabilitation therapy technology, medical laboratory technology, and pharmacy. Among them, the nursing major has been approved by the Provincial Department of Education as the "International Talent Training Brand Professional Construction Project" and has been rated as the first batch of brand majors in Jiangsu Province and a provincial high-level professional group. The Nursing Training Center has been successively rated as an excellent training base for vocational education in Jiangsu Province, a training base construction project supported by the central government, and a demonstration virtual simulation training base construction project of the Provincial Department of Education. It has two provincial scientific research platforms, the Provincial Engineering Center and the Provincial Social Science Popularization Base, as well as a thousand-acre medicinal material industrial park jointly built by the school and the local government. The school has built a multifunctional cross-border integration, cross-professional integration, information-based fit, and first-class smart medical training center in the country, integrating teaching practice, curriculum ideological and political education, career experience, social training, and health education. Over the years, the passing rate of the "National Nursing Examination" for fresh nursing graduates has been above 99%, and they have won dozens of awards such as the first prize in the National Vocational College Skills Competition. The employment rate and counterpart employment rate of graduates in the same year are among the best in the province, and they have been rated "A" in the quantitative supervision and assessment of employment work of college graduates in Jiangsu Province. Over the past 60 years, the school has trained more than 90,000 high-quality, compound and applied medical and health talents for the society.
