Zhengzhou Vocational College of Electronic Information Technology is a general higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Henan Province and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is a college planned by the provincial government to upgrade to a university. The college is located in the superimposed development area of Zhengzhou Metropolitan Area, Zhengzhou Aviation Port Area, and Zhongyuan Economic Zone, and the center of Zhengzhou-Kaifeng integration. The college undertakes the task of training a large number of highly skilled talents for Zhengzhou National Central City, Aviation Port Area, and Zhengzhou Automobile Industrial Park. Over the past 30 years, more than 100,000 graduates have worked all over the country. Many graduates have become leaders in the business community, and the employment rate of graduates has been close to 100% year after year. The college's achievements in running schools have been reported and praised by more than 100 news media in the country, provinces, and cities. It is known as the "cradle of technicians, engineers, and entrepreneurs" and has successively won the "National Advanced Vocational College", "National Advanced Vocational Guidance College", and "Henan Higher Vocational Education Characteristic College". The college has been awarded the honorary titles of "Provincial Advanced School-running Unit" and "Top Ten Colleges in Zhengzhou" for many times. The Henan Provincial Higher Workers' Committee and the Party Group of the Provincial Department of Education awarded the Party Committee of our college the title of "Advanced Grassroots Party Organization in Henan Higher Education Institutions". The then Minister of Education Zhou Ji, Henan Governor Guo Gengmao, and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Zhizhen visited our college for research and spoke highly of the college's achievements in higher vocational education. The college has a garden-like campus of more than 1,000 acres, more than 30 teaching and research buildings, nearly 10,000 students, and more than 620 full-time and part-time teachers, of which more than 60% are professors, associate professors, senior lecturers, senior engineers and other middle and senior titles. Among them, there are 2 experts with outstanding contributions to the country, 2 experts who enjoy special government allowances from the State Council, and experts and professors from universities such as the PLA Information Engineering University, Henan University, and Zhengzhou University who teach in our school have formed a strong faculty team. The college has nearly 100 million yuan of various advanced teaching equipment and 81 experimental training rooms, among which: "Electrical and Electronic Training Base", "CNC Training Base", and "Zhengzhou Haima Off-campus Training Base" were rated as provincial demonstration training bases; "Electrical and Electronic Laboratory", "Mechatronics Laboratory", and "Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Training Center" were rated as Zhengzhou Key Laboratories. More than 100 national large and medium-sized enterprises have been awarded certificates and established as talent training and delivery bases and school-enterprise cooperation experimental internship bases to ensure that students combine theory with practice. The library has millions of books, a gigabit campus network, full campus wireless WiFi coverage, and more than 2,500 advanced computers, laying a solid foundation for students' learning and growth. The college has two large sports stadiums, an indoor sports center, football fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, etc. The student dormitory is a standard four-person room equipped with air conditioning, separate bathrooms, computer desks, bookcases, broadband and other facilities; the campus informatization construction has achieved initial results, with an investment of nearly 10 million yuan, and 60 standardized examination rooms have been built; a motor vehicle testing center on campus; a factory on campus; an automobile training center, which basically realizes the master-apprentice relationship. The college has seven departments and four divisions: Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Transportation, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Art Design, Department of Economics and Trade Management, Basic Teaching Department, Secondary Vocational Teaching Department, Ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Department, and Physical Education Teaching Department. There are currently 51 majors. In 2016, our college's "Electronic Information Engineering Technology Major" was approved as a "Brand Major in Henan Province"; in 2016, the Provincial Department of Education awarded our college the title of "Featured College of Higher Vocational Education in Henan Province". The college implements the strategy of "expert management of the school". We attract talents from outside and train them from within, strengthen the construction of a "double-qualified" teaching team, improve the academic level of teachers, and optimize the structure of teachers. We strive to build a group-based school-enterprise cooperation model, and create a talent training model with professional characteristics of industry-education integration and school-enterprise integration. The college always follows the laws of education and the market, and always focuses on cultivating urgently needed talents for local economic construction. We implement school-enterprise cooperation, factory-school docking, work-study combination, and order training, and students have solid theoretical knowledge, strong hands-on ability, and innovative school characteristics.
