Maanshan University is a private applied undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Anhui Province and supervised by the Anhui Provincial Department of Education. The school is located in Maanshan City, Anhui Province. The campus covers an area of 1,016 acres. The school has built a building area of 291,800 square meters and the library has 645,400 paper books. The school has 9 colleges (departments) including the School of Medical Engineering, the School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Art and Design, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Marxism and the Basic Department. There are 34 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, economics, management, literature, art and other categories. Enrolling students from Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Henan, Shandong, Guangdong, Shaanxi and other provinces, there are currently 11,853 students. In 2021, it was successfully approved as a provincial makerspace. 2. History of the school The predecessor of the school was the School of Business of Anhui University of Technology. It was established in June 2003. It was applied for by Anhui University of Technology and approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Anhui Province. It is an independent college established by Anhui University of Technology and approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Anhui Province. In June 2019, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the School of Business of Anhui University of Technology was renamed Ma'anshan College. 3. School characteristics The school takes industry-education integration and international cooperation in running schools as two major means to achieve rapid development. Industry-education integration In 2021, the school and Ma'anshan City jointly built the first engineering college in Anhui Province. Through the idea of "government-led, departmental participation, school-based, and service enterprises", it will gather high-quality education resources on campus and local strategic emerging industry resources, strengthen engineering practice training education, and improve the skill education mechanism. As a pilot in Anhui Province, the provincial human resources and social security department authorized Ma'anshan College to set up a junior professional title evaluation committee in the engineering series. Graduates who meet the professional and technical qualification evaluation conditions can be awarded the corresponding junior and intermediate engineering professional and technical titles after evaluation by the professional title evaluation committee and approval by the human resources and social security department. In the two years since the pilot was launched, more than 390 students of our school have been awarded professional titles through the School of Engineering, achieving "employment with professional titles", which effectively improved the quality of employment. The relevant practices have been reported by mainstream media such as Xinhua News Agency's "Domestic Dynamic Proofing", "Outlook" Weekly, Guangming Daily, "China Organization and Personnel News", and Anhui News Network. International Cooperation and Exchange The school has established cooperative relations with many countries. In 2017, our school cooperated with Osaka University in Japan, and appointed the vice president of Osaka University as honorary dean to establish a "3+1" visiting study program between the two schools; in 2020, the school opened a Spanish major, and reached cooperation intentions with Complutense University of Madrid and Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain, and signed a letter of intent for cooperation; in 2024, our school signed an agreement with Japan Golden Bridge Co., Ltd. to jointly build an overseas internship base to provide students with a better international development platform. The school currently has extensive and in-depth cooperation with well-known universities in Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy, Thailand, Spain, etc., and has carried out various overseas projects such as joint training for undergraduates and masters, visiting studies, and overseas internships.
