Wenzhou Vocational and Technical College is a full-time comprehensive higher vocational college established in 1999 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It was formed by the merger of Wenzhou Mechanical Industry School, Wenzhou Commercial School, Wenzhou Economic School, and Wenzhou Amateur University of Science and Technology. Its history can be traced back to 1965. The school is now the only high-level higher vocational school with Chinese characteristics in southern Zhejiang and northern Fujian, a national demonstrative higher vocational college, a national high-quality higher vocational college, and an excellent school of the National Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award. It is a key higher vocational college in Zhejiang Province, one of the top 50 universities with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, an advanced unit of national vocational education, the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of Education, a civilized campus in Zhejiang Province, the first batch of four-year higher vocational education talent training pilot colleges in Zhejiang Province, and the first batch of higher vocational undergraduate talent training pilot colleges in Zhejiang Province. The school currently has five campuses, including the Higher Education Park Campus, Lucheng Campus, Ouhai Campus, Ruian Campus, and Yongjia Campus. The campus covers a total area of more than 1,300 acres, with more than 900 faculty and staff and more than 12,000 full-time students. There are 10 secondary colleges, including the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Design, the School of Artificial Intelligence, the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Digital Economics and Trade, Lucheng College (School of Continuing Education), Ruian College, Yongjia College, the School of Public Basics, and the School of Marxism.
