Shiyan City, Hubei Province is close to the Taoist resort Wudang Mountain, and is adjacent to Shennongjia, the roof of Central China, and Danjiangkou Reservoir, the source of the middle route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. This is a magical place. One million years ago, ancient humans were born here. The discovery of "Yunxian Man" changed the monistic theory of human origin. This is a hotbed for entrepreneurship. 50 years ago, China's Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant (now Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd.) was born here, and it has become a world-famous automobile city. Hubei Industrial Vocational and Technical College is located in the central urban area of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, which is known as "Fairy Mountain, Beautiful Water, and Automobile City". It is a public full-time general college jointly managed by the province and the city. It is one of the earliest independent higher vocational colleges in the country and Hubei Province. Its predecessor was the Shiyan City Higher Normal College (referred to as the Higher Normal Class) opened in 1976 and Shiyan Vocational University established in 1983. It was renamed Shiyan Vocational and Technical College in 1998. In May 2013, it was approved by the provincial government and approved by the Ministry of Education to be renamed Hubei Industrial Vocational and Technical College (referred to as Hubei Industrial Vocational College). In the more than 40 years of higher education, the school has passed on the torch, forged ahead, and trained and sent batches of technical backbones, industry experts and management talents, and made positive contributions to the national and regional economic and social development. In recent years, the school has achieved remarkable results in running schools, and has successively become a model higher vocational college in Hubei Province, a national model (backbone) higher vocational college, a Sino-German vocational education automotive and electromechanical cooperation project college of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of pilot colleges for undergraduate talent training in Hubei Province, a national industry-education integration project school, a pilot school for teaching diagnosis and improvement in Hubei Province, a pilot unit for the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, a high-quality junior college higher vocational college in Hubei Province, and a construction unit of the "Double High Plan" in Hubei Province. It has won the titles of Hubei Civilized Campus, Hubei Safe Campus, Hubei Garden Campus, Hubei Model School for Rule of Law in Schools, and Charming Campus of National Vocational Colleges. The school has a beautiful environment and elegant style, covers an area of more than 1,000 acres, a construction area of about 300,000 square meters, and a total value of fixed assets of more than 800 million yuan. There are nearly 600 faculty members on duty, more than 190 people with associate senior titles or above, more than 260 master's and doctoral students, 33.9% of full-time teachers are associate senior teachers or above, 53% of full-time teachers are master's degree or above, more than 20 provincial and municipal famous teachers, experts, and technical experts, and more than 500 part-time teachers from industry enterprises are hired, including 34 "Chutian Skilled Teachers" and 50 "Checheng Skilled Teachers". The school-enterprise cooperation has established 10 productive training bases, and 47 majors have built training centers combining work and study. The school has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Dongfeng Industry, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Dongfeng Honda and other Dongfeng plate enterprises, as well as China Unicom, China Telecom, Bosch Automotive Testing Equipment (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., General Electric Company of the United States and more than 20 well-known domestic and foreign companies, and has established close cooperative relations with more than 300 large and medium-sized enterprises. It has opened a "Sino-German Vocational Education Electromechanical Experimental Class" with five major automobile companies such as Volkswagen of Germany, and opened a "Sino-German Mechanical Technician Class" under the support and guidance of the German Hans Seidel Foundation. Relying on superior school resources, the school vigorously carries out scientific research, technical services and social training. In the past two years, the school has obtained more than 50 provincial and municipal scientific research projects, published more than 500 scientific research papers, applied for 25 utility model patents, carried out 28 technical services, and the total amount of social service contracts exceeded 2 million yuan. Extensive professional training in finance, taxation, fire protection, security, e-commerce, machinery, etc., as well as various types of scarce skilled personnel and employee quality and skills improvement training.
