Lanzhou Vocational College of Foreign Languages was founded in 1998. It is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education and recruits students nationwide. The college has two campuses, Heping and Lanzhou New District. The Heping campus is located in the Heping Development Zone of Lanzhou City, covering an area of nearly 300 acres, with a building area of more than 135,000 square meters, more than 11,900 students and more than 400 faculty and staff. The new campus of the college is located in the fifth national-level new district, Lanzhou New District Vocational Education Park, covering an area of 1,350 acres and a planned building area of more than 860,000 square meters. The new district campus is mainly based on full-time higher vocational education undergraduate level, supplemented by adult education and vocational training. After the completion of the new campus, it will become a full-time vocational university with complete functions, reasonable layout, first-class hardware, and harmonious and beautiful environment. The college actively responds to the national development strategy plan, closely focuses on the "National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan", takes the cultivation of great craftsmen and skilled craftsmen as its mission, and combines the urgent need for high-quality technical and skilled talents in Gansu Province's promotion of the green ecological industry development plan. Through continuous optimization of the structure, the professional characteristics are increasingly prominent. The college implements a two-level management system of school and college, with 7 secondary colleges. It currently offers 51 majors (directions) including preschool education, primary school English education, nursing, pharmacy, modern logistics management, big data and accounting, computer application technology, high-speed railway passenger service, flight attendant, applied English, applied Japanese, etc. The college has always adhered to the socialist direction of running schools and the principle of public welfare of education, taking the "12345" professional construction technical route as the starting point, and the reform of the talent training model of "industry-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation" as the starting point, and "talent training program upgrade" and "curriculum construction upgrade" as the reform and innovation points, striving to create an excellent teaching team, continuously cultivate school characteristics, continuously improve the quality of talent training, and continuously improve social reputation. In June 2009, the college passed the talent training work evaluation of the Ministry of Education; in 2012 and 2018, it was awarded the 5A title in the standardized evaluation of social organizations by the Department of Civil Affairs of Gansu Province; in December 2015, it passed the professional spot check evaluation of the Department of Education of Gansu Province; in April 2017, it accepted the comprehensive inspection of the basic conditions of the college by the Provincial Department of Education, and the inspection team fully affirmed the basic conditions of the college. In 2018, it won the honorary title of the first "Civilized Campus" in Gansu Province.
