The predecessor of Beijing Institute of Technology and Management was China University of Technology and Management, which was founded on May 18, 1985. On April 5, 2001, it was renamed Beijing Institute of Technology and Management with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is a full-time private general higher vocational college with the national unified enrollment qualification in the national higher education plan.
