Shijiazhuang Vocational and Technical College (Shijiazhuang Open University) is the former Shijiazhuang University, founded in 1984. It is a full-time general college approved by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Shijiazhuang Municipal People's Government. The college is a national high-quality vocational college, a national modern apprenticeship pilot unit, and a high-level professional group construction unit of the "China-style high-level vocational school and professional construction plan", ranking among the top similar colleges in Hebei Province. The college currently has the only national college "double leader" teacher party branch secretary studio among the higher vocational colleges in the province, and is the first batch of "1+X" certificate pilot units recognized by the Ministry of Education. The "Digital Building Integrated Application Virtual Simulation Training Base" is a vocational education demonstration virtual simulation training base cultivation project determined by the Ministry of Education. The Hebei Software and Service Outsourcing Vocational Education Group is the second batch of demonstration vocational education group (alliance) cultivation units approved by the Ministry of Education. It has one national advanced vocational education unit and two advanced collectives in the provincial education system, and is an "Advanced Collective for School Safety Work in Hebei Province". There are 2 national-level vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams, 4 provincial-level vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams, and 2 excellent teaching teams in Hebei Province. It is an experimental site for the UNESCO Urban Community Learning Center (CLC) project. After nearly 40 years of construction, the college has developed into a school-running pattern with full-time higher vocational education, open education, and community education as a trinity, and multiple forms of school-running coexisting. At present, there are departments such as Management Department, Economics and Trade Department, Information Engineering Department, Construction Engineering Department, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Food and Drug Engineering Department, Art Design Department, Animation Department, Physical Education Department, Software Engineering Department, Public Foreign Language Department, and Continuing Education Department. A professional pattern has been formed with the professional clusters of intelligent construction and intelligent manufacturing as the core, and the professional clusters of electronic information, modern services, cultural creativity, e-commerce, and food and drug coordinated development. There are currently 5 national-level backbone majors, 2 national-level boutique (resource sharing) courses, 1 provincial-level boutique resource sharing course, 10 provincial-level boutique courses, and 12 provincial-level boutique online open courses. There are 21 provincial and above teaching achievement awards, including 1 second prize of national teaching achievement, 3 first prizes of provincial teaching achievement, 11 second prizes and 6 third prizes. The college actively implements the "scientific research innovation" project, and has established 5 secondary colleges jointly built by schools and enterprises, such as the Software Engineering Department, and has taken the lead in establishing two provincial vocational education groups, Hebei Software and Service Outsourcing and Hebei Cultural Creativity. Co-established an academician workstation with Shijiazhuang Shuying Electronics Co., Ltd. The school-enterprise co-construction has 9 school-enterprise cooperation achievements such as the Application Technology Collaborative Innovation Center and the Production Training Base recognized by the Ministry of Education, and 1 provincial technology innovation center. The college actively implements the "open school" project to build a community education platform in Shijiazhuang. A "four-level network" system covering the entire city has been formed, namely, the college community college, the county (city, district) has established a community education branch, the street (township) has a community education center, and the community (village) level community teaching points or community schools. With the industry as the guide, 8 secondary colleges such as calligraphy and constitutional law were established. The typical practice of bringing legal education into the community through forms that are popular among the masses has been highly praised by national, provincial and municipal leaders. The Chinese Law Society issued a document to promote the experience and practices of our college in community legal education. Four directly affiliated community education bases have been built: "Dazhe Community", "Goldfish Culture", "Luquan Data Center" and "Zunguang Elderly Care". The college actively implemented the "Talent Strengthening School" project, built the first application-oriented teacher development center platform in Hebei Province, formed a "one platform, five steps" teacher professional growth and development system, and built a high-level teaching staff led by professional leaders and supported by backbone teachers, teaching masters and skill masters. There are more than 900 faculty and staff, including 26 doctors and 65 senior professional titles. There are 1 national famous teacher, 1 provincial famous teacher, 1 provincial outstanding educator, 2 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions, 1 expert with special allowance from the provincial government, 1 person at the second level of the provincial "Three Three Three" talent project, 1 provincial outstanding teacher, 2 provincial "Three Education" advanced individuals, and 2 provincial model teachers. The college actively implements the "quality-based school" project. The college currently has more than 12,900 full-time students and more than 8,000 students in adult education. The college recruits students from 17 provinces (cities) including Hebei, Henan, Hubei, and Hunan, and its admission scores have been among the top in similar colleges in the province for many consecutive years. The employment quality of graduates is high, and the employment rate has been above 99% for many consecutive years. The employment rate and the rate of transfer from junior college to undergraduate are among the best in the province. The college has won the titles of "Advanced Unit of Vocational Education in Hebei Province", "Advanced Collective of Employment of College and Technical School Graduates in Hebei Province", and "Model Employment Guidance Center of Ordinary Colleges and Universities in Hebei Province" for many times. The college actively implements the "Strengthening the Basics and Improving the Body" project, and has a wired and wireless integrated network covering the entire school, as well as a modern teaching platform and information exchange platform. The library is one of the few "million-book collection" libraries in Shijiazhuang City, with advanced book retrieval systems and electronic reading rooms. The college has built two multifunctional teaching buildings and two skill training buildings with a total area of 60,000 square meters, 70 on-campus training bases, and 180 stable off-campus internship bases. More than 30 research and development centers (studios) jointly built by schools and enterprises. There is one national vocational skill appraisal institute approved and filed by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, which can provide students with vocational skill level certification for related majors. There are two Hebei University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Bases, the School Broadcasting Culture Innovation Space and the Qidu Innovation Space. The college has complete living, cultural and sports facilities, including university student apartments, automobile training rooms, ball games, swimming and fitness centers, and high-standard comprehensive sports centers. Located in the Shijiazhuang National Free Trade Zone, a new campus with an investment of 5.35 billion yuan, covering an area of more than 1,300 acres and a construction area of more than 500,000 square meters is under construction.
