Anhui Vocational College of Urban Management is a public full-time general college approved by the provincial government and registered by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was the Anhui Provincial Amateur University of Directly Affiliated Institutions established by the Anhui Provincial Working Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1981 and the Anhui Provincial Employees University in 1988. It was converted into a full-time general higher vocational college in 2003. The total campus area is 1,055 acres, with three campuses: Xinzhan, Jingkai and Xinqiao, with a construction area of 324,200 square meters and teaching equipment worth more than 100 million yuan. The school is one of the first batch of “high-level schools and professional groups” construction units in Anhui Province, one of the first batch of “three-education” reform demonstration schools in Anhui Province, one of the first batch of healthy school construction units in the country, one of the first batch of joint training pilot units for junior college students in Anhui Province, and a “higher vocational development benchmark school” and “skills competition benchmark school” in Anhui Province. It is a demonstration school for party building work in Anhui Province, the fourth batch of “three-dimensional education” comprehensive reform pilot units in Anhui Province, and the first batch of “Industrial Information Security Talent Training Special Action Plan” implementation units of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The first “Anhui Civil Affairs College” jointly established by the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Provincial Party Committee of the Provincial Organs, Anhui Veterans Education College, the first batch of provincial-level entrepreneurship colleges in Anhui Province, the first batch of school-enterprise cooperation demonstration bases in Anhui Province, and the National Tourism Administration Tourism Vocational Education School-Enterprise Cooperation Demonstration Base, the second Anhui Civilized Campus, Anhui Provincial Civilized Campus, Hefei City Health Advanced Unit, Hefei City Double Support Qualified Unit, won the Sixth “Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award” Outstanding School Award, and the “Anhui Modern Urban Vocational Education Group” led by the school was selected as a national demonstrative vocational education group cultivation unit. It has 7 secondary colleges, including the School of Rail Transit, the School of Health and Elderly Care, the School of Preschool Education, the School of Urban Construction, the School of Finance and Finance, the School of Business Management, and the School of Information Technology, and 2 teaching departments, including the Department of Ideological and Political Teaching and Research (School of Marxism) and the Department of Public Teaching. It has opened 43 enrollment majors, including smart city management technology, urban rail vehicle application technology, new energy vehicle technology, artificial intelligence technology application, preschool education, smart health and elderly care services and management, and rehabilitation therapy technology, covering 12 major categories, including finance and commerce, public management and services, electronics and information, civil engineering, light industry and textiles, tourism, culture and art, education and sports, transportation, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, equipment manufacturing, and medicine and health. Among them, there are 2 national key majors, 4 provincial high-level professional groups, 2 provincial high-level vocational majors, 9 provincial characteristic majors, 4 provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot majors, and 25 enrollment majors that meet the ten major emerging industries in our province. The college has gradually become a characteristic higher vocational college for cultivating high-skilled talents in urban construction and civil affairs and people's livelihood services. The college insists on connecting the "overpass" of vocational education talent training. The enrollment structure covers 6 types of general high school enrollment, classified enrollment, social expansion, adult continuing education, five-year consistent system, and 3+2 transfer. Since 2020, it has carried out joint training of undergraduates with Hefei Normal University and Anhui Jianzhu University since 2023, realizing the connection of secondary vocational education, higher vocational education, and undergraduate education. Adhere to the occupational demand-oriented, connect with industry standards, occupational standards and job specifications, implement the dual subject of school-enterprise education, deepen the integration of "job courses, competitions and certificates", practice the "three-in-one" teaching model of "classroom + practical teaching + skill training", and incorporate the vocational skill level certificate standards into the practical teaching content of the course. The school has always insisted on taking serving the regional economic and social development as the foothold and starting point of running the school. In the past five years, the school has carried out various levels of vocational skills appraisal, and has hosted more than 30 provincial and municipal skills competitions. It is the national and provincial training education base of the Provincial Teacher Center, and the continuing education base for professional and technical personnel of the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. The school adheres to the principle of "using competition to promote teaching, learning and construction", and takes vocational skills competitions as a starting point to continuously improve its talent training capabilities. In the past five years, the school has won more than 600 vocational skills competition awards, including 8 first prizes, 18 second prizes and 21 third prizes in the national competition, 60 first prizes, 136 second prizes and 137 third prizes in the provincial competition. The total score of the skills competition ranks among the best in the province, and has won the gold medal of the entrepreneurship group of the Anhui University Student Entrepreneurship Competition, the gold medal of the Anhui "Internet +" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the gold medal of the "Challenge Cup" Anhui University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition. The school continues to strengthen the capacity building of teachers, and the level of teaching and scientific research continues to improve. In recent years, the school has won 2 provincial special prizes for teaching achievements, 8 first prizes, 12 second prizes, and 9 third prizes. It has also won 9 provincial famous teachers, 20 provincial new teachers, 5 provincial skill master studios, and 14 provincial teaching teams. It has won 39 provincial awards for the Teachers’ Teaching Ability Competition, 51 provincial outstanding talent projects for colleges and universities, and 114 humanities, social sciences, and natural science research projects for colleges and universities. One project has been selected for the “One School, One Product” project for the construction of campus culture in vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education.
