Jingzhou Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general higher vocational school established on April 18, 2001, approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education. The school was formed by the merger of six national and provincial key technical secondary schools, and its earliest establishment date is 1952. The school currently offers 47 majors, including 6 national backbone majors, including automobile inspection and maintenance technology, mechatronics technology, nursing, clothing and apparel design, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, and environmental art design; 2 key construction majors of "professional service industry" supported by the central government, such as automobile inspection and maintenance technology, accounting; 3 national modern apprenticeship pilot majors, such as automobile inspection and maintenance technology, environmental art design, and e-commerce; 1 provincial brand major, such as accounting; 6 provincial characteristic majors, such as automobile inspection and maintenance technology, clothing and apparel design, tourism management, nursing, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, and environmental art design; software technology is a strategic emerging industry major in Hubei Province; the digital textile and clothing professional group and the automotive key parts intelligent manufacturing and technical service professional group have been approved as provincial high-level professional groups. The school has a planned area of 1,996 acres, with 122 on-campus training rooms, two national school-enterprise co-construction production training bases for e-commerce and automobile inspection and maintenance technology, a "double-qualified" teacher training base for electromechanical majors, a national collaborative innovation center for electromechanical application technology, three national training bases supported by the central government for numerical control technology, electrical and electronic engineering, and computer application and software technology, as well as two provincial training bases for accounting computerization and fashion design. The school currently has 1,087 faculty and staff, including 1 host of the New Era Vocational School Master Studio of the Ministry of Education, 1 member of the National Guidance Committee, 5 members of the Special Guidance Committee, 24 professors, 201 associate professors, 505 doctoral and master's degrees, 18 "Chutian Skill Masters", 1 Hubei Provincial Industry Professor, and 1 Hubei Provincial Skill Master Studio. There are more than 19,000 students on campus. The school's teachers and students participated in the National Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, the National Vocational College Skill Competition and other national competitions, and won many first prizes and other awards.
