Fashionable Dalian, romantic city - Coastal City Dalian is an important economic, trade, port, industrial and tourist city on the eastern coast of China. Liaoning Light Industry Vocational College, which has a glorious history of 58 years of vocational education, is located in Jinpu New District, Dalian, which is blessed with beautiful scenery and rapid economic development. Its predecessor was Dalian Polytechnic University Vocational and Technical College. In August 2012, with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial People's Government, the college was independently established and Liaoning Light Industry Vocational College was established. The college is affiliated to the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, covers an area of more than 200,000 square meters, with a total construction area of nearly 140,000 square meters, and currently has 9,284 full-time students. It has a total of 141 professional studios and teaching training centers. There are 307 professional off-campus internship training bases and graduate internship bases. The total value of fixed assets is 269 million yuan, and the library has a paper collection of 566,100 books. After years of teaching reform and practice, the college has gradually formed a school-running philosophy of "moderate scale, distinctive characteristics, outstanding advantages, and first-class quality". It closely revolves around the national "Belt and Road", the new round of revitalization of the old industrial base in Northeast China, and the development and opening-up strategy of Liaoning's coastal economic belt. According to the regional economic development and urban development characteristics of Liaoning Province and Dalian City, it has targetedly adjusted the professional structure, clarified the training direction, and boldly carried out education and teaching reforms, cultivating a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for the country, and has become a training base for higher vocational talents in the light industry and consumer industry in Liaoning Province. The college currently has six departments and three divisions. That is, the Department of Textiles and Clothing, the Department of Art Design, the Department of Economics and Trade Management, the Department of Aviation Services, the Department of Information Engineering, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Basic Teaching Department, the Ideological and Political Teaching Department, and the Department of Physical Education. The modern textile and clothing professional group and the intelligent manufacturing professional group were approved as high-level characteristic professional group construction projects in Liaoning Province. The three majors of clothing design and technology, mechanical manufacturing and automation, and clothing and apparel design were identified as the backbone majors of the action plan for the innovation and development of higher vocational education. The clothing design and technology major was rated as a national pilot major for higher vocational education. The clothing and apparel design major was approved as a demonstration major for the reform of the modern apprenticeship talent training model in Liaoning Province, and the environmental art design major and hotel management major were approved as demonstration majors for the reform of the "order, customization, and orientation" talent training model in Liaoning Province. Eight majors, including clothing and apparel design, clothing design and technology, digital media art design, environmental art design, digital media application technology, computer network technology, numerical control technology, and hotel management, were rated as demonstration or brand (characteristic) majors of higher vocational education in Liaoning Province. These majors are in a leading position among similar colleges in the province and have a high influence.
