Wuhu University is a non-profit private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education of China, organized by Wuhu Industry-Education Integration Development Co., Ltd. and supervised by the Anhui Provincial Department of Education. Its predecessor was Anhui Normal University Wanjiang College, which was founded in 2004. The school's educational orientation is to be a university with engineering as the main discipline, high application level, and in line with local development needs. It has been deeply rooted in Wuhu, deeply rooted in the Yangtze River Delta, and integrated into the whole country. It focuses on creating a discipline and professional layout with engineering as the main discipline, liberal arts and sciences, multidisciplinary cross-disciplinary, and coordinated development of new engineering, new liberal arts, and new arts, and strives to build a high-level comprehensive application-oriented university that is "first-class in the province and leading in the country." The school plans to set up 9 secondary teaching units, including the School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, the School of Microelectronics, the School of Automotive Engineering, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Materials and Chemistry, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Music, the School of Physical Education, and the School of Digital Creativity and Design. There are currently 65 undergraduate majors (42 of which are enrolling), covering 7 disciplines such as engineering, literature, economics, and management. It has initially formed eight application-oriented professional clusters, namely "big data and artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, automotive engineering, intelligent manufacturing, materials chemistry, financial management, humanities education, and art design". There are currently 8,336 students, 518 full-time and part-time teachers, and 335 self-employed faculty and staff. After 20 years of moral education, "Wuhu" has continued to sing; continuing to move forward and embarking on a new journey, "Wuhu" is waiting to be scorched. Since its establishment, the school has won wide acclaim from students, parents, and the community with its high-level faculty, standardized teaching, strict management, high-quality services, and colorful campus culture. In the past three years, the admission line of each major has exceeded the second batch of undergraduate admissions by more than 20 points. In 2023, the registration rate of freshmen reached 99.16%; the admission rate for postgraduate entrance examinations has been stable at around 10% for a long time; and the employment rate of graduates has been stable at around 93%. In the university rankings published by the Ministry of Education's College Admissions Sunshine Project, Airsun and Wu Shulian, the school's comprehensive strength has always been at the forefront of similar colleges in the province.
