Guangxi Health Vocational and Technical College was established in March 2010 by the merger of Guangxi Health Management Cadre College, Guangxi Pharmaceutical School, and Health School Attached to Guangxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital, with the approval of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the record of the Ministry of Education of China. The predecessor of Guangxi Health Management Cadre College was the Guangxi Provincial Hospital Nursing and Midwifery School founded in 1941, which has gone through the Guangxi Provincial Hospital Nursing and Midwifery School, Guangxi Provincial Nanning Senior Nursing and Midwifery Vocational School, Guangxi No. 1 Nursing and Midwifery School, Guangxi No. 1 Health School, Guangxi Nanning Health School, Guangxi No. 1 Health School, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Nanning Health School, Guangxi Health College, Guangxi Nanning Pharmacy Inspection School, Guangxi Health School, Guangxi Health Cadre Continuing Education College, Guangxi Health Management Cadre College, etc. Guangxi Pharmaceutical School was founded in 1972, and has gone through the development stages of the Chinese Herbal Medicine Training Course Attached to Guangxi Medical Research Institute, the Chinese Herbal Medicine School Attached to Guangxi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Guangxi Pharmaceutical School, etc.; the Health School Attached to Guangxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital was founded in 1965. The college is the only higher vocational technical college of medicine and health in Guangxi. The college is a training base for scarce nursing talents in the country, a general medicine education and teaching guidance center in Guangxi, and a training base for health talents in township hospitals in Guangxi.
