Zhejiang Textile and Garment Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college organized by the Ningbo Municipal People's Government. It is the only higher vocational college in the province with the characteristics of fashion textile and garment vocational education. The school was formerly Zhejiang Textile Vocational and Technical College and Ningbo Fashion Vocational and Technical College. It was approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government in 2004 and merged and established with more than 40 years of school history. The school adheres to the school motto of "cultivating morality, improving skills, seeking truth, and pursuing beauty", and practices the Red Gang spirit of "daring to be the first, being proficient in skills, being honest and trustworthy, and being diligent and dedicated". It always adheres to the moral education, educating people for the party, and cultivating talents for the country, and adheres to the characteristic school-running positioning of the textile and garment industry. Relying on and serving the industrial development of Ningbo and even the whole province, the school continues to deepen the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, combination of work and study, and unity of knowledge and action, and has become a high-level higher vocational college with important influence in the national textile and garment industry. The school is now a national demonstration school for talent development in the textile industry, a high-level vocational college construction unit in Zhejiang Province, a high-quality vocational school in Zhejiang Province, the first batch of national education informatization pilot units, the first batch of national cross-border e-commerce professional talent training demonstration schools, the first batch of Zhejiang Province Internationalized Characteristic Universities, the first batch of Zhejiang Province Digital Campus Demonstration Schools, the first batch of Zhejiang Province Modern Apprenticeship Pilot Units, and Zhejiang Province Classroom Teaching Innovation School. The school is located in the North Higher Education Park, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, covering an area of more than 530 acres, with more than 700 faculty and staff and more than 10,000 students. Among them, there are more than 200 teachers with senior professional titles, 3 national technical experts, 6 national advanced textile education workers, 3 provincial teaching masters, and 2 provincial excellent teachers. There is one skill master studio of the Ministry of Education, two "dual-teacher" teacher training bases of the Ministry of Education, and one provincial teaching team. The school consists of 9 colleges and 45 majors (directions), including 2 majors supported by the central government, 2 provincial-level Class A high-level majors, 10 provincial-level advantageous and characteristic majors, and 4 provincial-level demonstration majors; it hosts 1 vocational education teaching resource library of the Ministry of Education, participates in 3, 4 national high-quality resource sharing courses, 1 national high-quality online open course, 18 provincial high-quality courses, and 9 provincial high-quality online open courses; it compiles 25 national planning textbooks, 28 provincial key textbooks, and 11 provincial new form textbooks; it has opened 3 central-finance-supported vocational education training bases, 5 provincial "13th Five-Year Plan" higher vocational education demonstration training bases, and 3 first batch of provincial modern apprenticeship pilot majors. The school is the director unit of the Teaching Steering Committee of Modern Textile Technology Professionals of Higher Vocational Colleges of the Ministry of Education, the executive director unit of the China Textile Engineering Society, and the only higher vocational college to win the "Outstanding Contribution Award" of the China Textile Engineering Society. The school has established 32 school-enterprise-local communities and 22 school-enterprise cooperation production, education and research platforms with leading textile and clothing enterprises such as Youngor Group, Boyang Group, Veken Group, Peacebird Group, Shenzhou Group, and Bailong Oriental. The Ningbo Modern Textile and Garment Industry College and the Textile and Garment Technology Innovation Research Institute of the China Textile Engineering Society established by the school have won the provincial "five batches" of industry-education integration projects. The school has hosted the National Textile Robot Application Summit Forum for five consecutive sessions, participated in the Ningbo International Fashion Festival for 24 consecutive years, and cooperated with the Municipal Government Development Research Center to build the Ningbo Fashion Economic Research Institute. It has released the "China City Fashion Index Report" to the society for five consecutive years and the "Ningbo Textile and Garment Industry Development Report" (white paper) for 10 consecutive years. Adhering to the combination of academic education and training, the college has organized more than 66,000 training sessions and more than 4,500 skills appraisals in the past three years. It is a national demonstration college for the cultivation of textile and clothing talents, an advanced unit for national textile vocational appraisal, and a demonstration base for continuing education for professional and technical personnel in Ningbo. Actively responding to the call of the Ministry of Education's "East-West Collaboration Action Plan for Vocational Education", as a unit of the Zhejiang-Aksu Vocational Education Development Alliance, it has paired up with Aksu Vocational and Technical College to carry out educational assistance, and has leveraged its advantages in textiles and clothing to pair up with Qinghai, Guizhou and other places to carry out educational assistance and technical poverty alleviation. Continue to build a highland for international cooperative education. The school is committed to international fashion education exchanges and cooperation. It has cooperated with the University of Salford in the UK to host the first non-independent legal person Sino-foreign cooperative school-running institution in the province for fashion design-the Sino-British Fashion Design Institute; cooperated with Japan's Sugino Fashion University to host a clothing and apparel design professional education project; and cooperated with Daegu University of Technology and Sinhung Women's University in South Korea to host a character image design professional education project. The overall level of internationalization of the school ranks among the top higher vocational colleges in the province, and has been identified by the Provincial Department of Education as a "Zhejiang Province International Characteristic University". The school actively responded to the "Belt and Road" initiative and established the first Sino-Romanian higher vocational education cooperative school-running institution in Romania-"China-Romania Silk Road Craftsman College"; co-built a "vocational practice + cultural experience" base with the Ayutthaya Technical and Commercial College in Thailand; "school-enterprise dual-subject international vocational education fashion textile talent training" and other 4 projects were listed as the first batch of key construction projects in Ningbo's "Belt and Road" national vocational education cooperation and development three-year action plan; took the lead in establishing the China (Zhejiang)-Central and Eastern Europe Cross-border E-commerce Industry-Education Alliance and the Central and Eastern European Silk Road College, focusing on universities and enterprises in the Yi-Ning-Zhou Open Channel, and cooperating around the "Belt and Road" initiative and China-Central and Eastern European countries to build a platform for cooperation.
