Fujian Health Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time general college approved by the Fujian Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is a model modern higher vocational college in Fujian Province. It mainly cultivates technical and skilled medical and health talents in nursing, pharmacy, medical technology, clinical medicine, and health management. The predecessor of the school was the Nursing School attached to Fuzhou Magaoai Hospital, founded in 1912. It is one of the first registered nursing schools in China. It was established in 2005 by the merger of Fujian Health School and Fuzhou Health School. In 1954, the pharmacy and medical laboratory majors were opened, and it is the earliest training base for pharmacy and medical laboratory talents in Fujian Province; in 1986, it took the lead in opening the medical imaging major among the medical and health colleges in the province; in 2016, the preventive medicine major was opened, and it was one of the first four higher vocational colleges in the country to open the preventive medicine major; in June 2021, it was successfully selected as a project construction unit of Fujian Province's high-level vocational colleges and professional plans (Class A). The school has 26 internal institutions, including 14 party and government management institutions, 9 teaching institutions, and 3 teaching auxiliary institutions. There are 509 full-time teachers, 188 of whom have senior professional titles, 25 doctors (including 6 students), 3 provincial teaching teams and 2 provincial teaching masters. 2 teachers won the "Qinghai Cup-Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award" Outstanding Teacher Award, 1 teacher won the Outstanding Teacher of Vocational Colleges of the China Vocational Education Society, 2 doctors were selected into the Fujian Province College Outstanding Young Scientific Research Talent Cultivation Program, 9 people were selected as the candidates for overseas visiting studies and training funding for outstanding professional leaders of higher education institutions in Fujian Province, and 11 people were selected as candidates for professional leaders training in Fujian Vocational Colleges. In recent years, teachers have won 33 group awards and 39 individual awards at or above the provincial level in various teaching ability competitions at all levels. One typical case of personal professional development of "dual-qualified" teachers in national vocational colleges (one of the three higher vocational colleges in the province), one curriculum ideological and political teaching team of the Ministry of Education, 5 teaching masters, and one typical case of deepening the integration of production and education and school-enterprise cooperation in the country. The school has won 1 second prize of national teaching achievement, 1 second prize of teaching achievement of the National Health Commission, 1 special prize of teaching achievement of Fujian Province, 4 first prizes and 3 second prizes. The school currently has 11,698 full-time higher vocational students, 29 majors, covering medicine and medicine-related majors, forming 5 professional groups of medicine, medicine, nursing, technology and management, and the employment rate of graduates is stable at more than 98%. It has carried out joint education of 8 majors with 7 secondary vocational schools, and carried out 3 professional higher vocational undergraduate talent training projects with Fujian Medical University, including clinical medicine general medicine, medical laboratory technology, and medical imaging technology, to build a modern vocational education system with vertical integration of "secondary vocational education-higher vocational education-applied undergraduate education". Four majors, including nursing, pharmacy, clinical medicine, and medical laboratory technology, are included in the backbone majors of the National Higher Vocational Education Innovation and Development Action Plan. Two professional groups, including pharmacy and medical laboratory technology, have been selected into the provincial high-level professional group construction project. Six majors, including nursing, pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, midwifery, and traditional Chinese medicine, have been included in the provincial higher vocational education demonstration majors. Four professional groups, including maternal and child health care and elderly health care, clinical medicine, pharmacy, and medical technology, have been approved as provincial service industry characteristic professional groups. Four professional groups, including medical cosmetology technology, stomatology, midwifery, and medical laboratory technology, have been approved as provincial service industry characteristic professional groups. 10 majors were included in the provincial pilot programs for innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, 2 majors including nursing and optometry technology were included in the provincial demonstration programs for integration of industry and education, and the pharmacy major was approved as the first batch of national demonstration programs for health services. 4 majors including optometry technology, traditional Chinese medicine, rehabilitation therapy technology, and medical imaging technology (radiotherapy technology direction) were approved as pilot projects for the modern apprenticeship system by the Fujian Provincial Department of Education, and 6 majors including pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, nursing, rehabilitation therapy technology, medical imaging technology, and medical laboratory technology were approved as pilot projects for the "dual system" technical and skilled talent training reform by the Fujian Provincial Department of Education. 15 "1+X" vocational skill level certificate system pilot projects such as elderly care and 10 vocational skill level certification jobs such as traditional Chinese medicine preparation workers were approved. The school currently has 12 on-campus training bases, including 5 higher vocational education training bases supported by the central government, 7 productive training bases for higher vocational education in Fujian Province, 3 professional group training bases for vocational colleges in Fujian Province, and 2 high-level professional production-education integration training bases for vocational colleges in Fujian Province; 157 off-campus practice bases, including 4 affiliated hospitals (Fujian Provincial Hospital, 907th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force, Jianou Municipal Hospital, Wuyishan Municipal Hospital); 38 teaching hospitals (Fujian Provincial Hospital, Fujian Cancer Hospital, Nanping First Hospital, Ningde Municipal Hospital, Putian First Hospital, Longyan Second Hospital, Longhai First Hospital, Shaxian General Hospital, etc.). The school is the only higher vocational college that undertakes the pilot unit of the modern university system reform in Fujian Province. It has established a school-enterprise cooperation council, took the lead in establishing the Fujian Health Service Vocational Education Group and was rated as a model vocational education group in Fujian Province. It has innovated the cooperative construction model of "government-led, industry-guided, enterprise-participated, and school-based", and jointly run schools with industry departments, leading hospitals, and well-known enterprises. It has established 26 "factory-schools", held school-institute (enterprise) cooperation classes, modern apprenticeship classes, and dual-system talent training technology reform pilot classes. The United Imaging Medical Imaging Industry College was approved as the third batch of pilot projects for higher vocational colleges in Fujian Province. The school has 3 research centers (Modern Health Care Product R&D Application Technology Collaborative Innovation Center, Biomedicine Fujian University Applied Technology Engineering Center, Continuing Nursing Fujian University Applied Liberal Arts Research Center), and 1 research room (Fujian Traditional Chinese Medicine Effective Ingredient Analysis and Bioactivity Evaluation Research Room). In recent years, the university has undertaken a number of projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education's key projects for the National Education Science Planning, the Ministry of Education's research projects on ideological and political theory teachers in colleges and universities, and the provincial science and technology plan projects; developed two local standards in Fujian Province; obtained 17 authorized invention patents, 13 utility model patents, 20 software copyrights, and 2 design patents; and won two third prizes in Fujian Medical Science and Technology Awards. The school took the lead in establishing the Fujian Grassroots Health Technician Training Group, which has the Fujian Grassroots Health Technician Training Base, the Township Health Technician Training Center, and the Rural Doctor Training Center. It has been approved as the Fujian Civil Servant Training Base, the Fujian Migrant Workers "Study Dream Action" Project Training College and Training Base, the Fujian Continuing Education Demonstration Teaching Site Cultivation Project Unit, the Fujian Community Education Demonstration Base, the Fujian Senior University Construction Project, the National Nursing Qualification Examination Question Development Base, the Fujian Vocational Skill Level Certification Pilot College, the Fujian Medical Caregiver Training Center, and the Fujian Pharmacist Association Practicing Pharmacist Continuing Education Face-to-Face Institution, and the Fuzhou Long-term Care Insurance Designated Assessment Institution. The school carries out standardized training for rural doctors, training for medical and health technicians, nursing first aid and health care and other technical training projects for grassroots, communities and enterprises, with an annual training of about 30,000 people. The school has jointly carried out higher education continuing education with China Pharmaceutical University, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Fujian Medical University and Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has been rated as a national "Excellent Adult Continuing Education College". In China, it has established friendly partner schools with Tianjin Medical College, Xinjiang Changji Vocational and Technical College, Qinghai Health Vocational and Technical College, Sanming Medical Science and Technology Vocational College, Fujian Economic School and other colleges and universities in and outside the province; it has established cooperative relations with more than 10 universities in the United States, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and other countries and regions, and held the first Sino-foreign nursing education cooperation project in higher vocational colleges in Fujian Province. The school fully implements the party's education policy, implements the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating people, and practices the school motto of "industry excellence, morality and honesty", making due contributions to the development of medical and health care in Fujian Province.
