Ma'anshan Vocational and Technical College is located in Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, a national civilized city and the city of Chinese poetry. The college was formerly known as Ma'anshan Union University, which was founded in 1984. In February 2008, with the approval of the People's Government of Anhui Province, it was independently established and renamed "Ma'anshan Vocational and Technical College". In December 2011, it was integrated with Anhui Ma'anshan Technician College; in May 2015, Ma'anshan Health School was merged; in April 2019, Ma'anshan Network University (Ma'anshan Branch of Anhui Radio and Television University, now renamed Ma'anshan Open University) was merged. In December 2021, Ma'anshan Vocational and Technical College was approved as a construction unit of a high-level skill-based university in Anhui Province. In 2023, the college was approved as a high-level professional group construction unit of the provincial "Double High Plan", and was approved to carry out joint training of "junior college to undergraduate" with Anhui University of Technology.
