Guangdong Youth Vocational College is a public general college approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education in 2011. It was restructured and established on the basis of Guangdong Youth Cadre College. Its predecessor was the South China Youth League School established in 1950, with a history of more than 60 years. The administrative department of the college is the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the business department is the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. It mainly undertakes the functions of higher vocational education, adult education, Communist Youth League cadre training, youth vocational skills training and innovation of youth work theory. The college is located in Zhongluotan Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou. The campus covers an area of more than 500 acres, with a planned school building area of 320,000 square meters, which can accommodate 12,000 college students and hundreds of trainees at the same time. The college has a beautiful teaching environment and complete facilities and equipment. It has an on-campus training base with advanced equipment, integrating teaching, training, and vocational skill level appraisal. It has more than 100 stable off-campus internship bases; the library has a rich collection of nearly 500,000 paper books and nearly 300,000 electronic books. It subscribes to multiple databases such as China Knowledge Network, Duxiu Knowledge Base, and Weipu Examination Resource System every year. The college currently has 8 departments, including the Department of Finance and Economics, the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Youth and Social Work, the Department of Computer Engineering, the Department of Art Design, the Department of Ideological and Political Theory, and the Department of League Cadre Training (School of Continuing Education). The professional settings are mainly liberal arts. At present, there are 5 major professional groups, including finance and commerce, culture and art, electronic information, education and sports, and public management and service. There are 19 full-time professional settings, including 2 majors supported by the central government, 1 provincial key construction major, and 2 provincial training base construction project majors. The college has enrolled 8 classes of students, with more than 4,000 students. The college strengthens the two school-running characteristics of "League Youth" and "Entrepreneurship". Through the seven grasping points of professional construction, curriculum setting, teacher building, scientific research promotion, cultural building, student training, and social services, it has vigorously promoted the characteristics and advantages of "League Youth", highlighting the elements and genes of the "Communist Youth League", and focusing on the cultivation of students' "youth leadership qualities", so that students can not only master basic professional skills but also be good at doing group work, with strong appeal and cohesion. The college has launched a plan for the "dual subject" collaborative cultivation of entrepreneurial talents between the college and the enterprise, and promoted the "five one" construction projects, namely "a youth innovation and entrepreneurship college, a Golden Phoenix Entrepreneurship Class, a group of college student entrepreneurs, an entrepreneurial mentor group, and an entrepreneurial practice base", to form an innovative and entrepreneurial education and teaching system suitable for the development of students. In terms of professional skills training, the college emphasizes the school-running model of integration of production and education and school-enterprise cooperation, adheres to the vocational education concepts of practice-based education, "integration of courses and certificates", and "promoting teaching and learning through competitions", and focuses on cultivating high-level technical and skilled talents with innovative and entrepreneurial qualities. Students have repeatedly won excellent results in the provincial and national college skills competitions such as the National Higher Vocational and Technical College Social Work Ability and Practice Competition, the Blue Bridge Cup National Software and Information Technology Professional Talent Competition, the National Vocational College Skills Competition Higher Vocational Group Guangdong Province Selection English Oral Competition, and the "Challenge Cup" Guangdong College Students Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Works Competition. Graduates have strong professional abilities and high comprehensive qualities, and are highly welcomed by employers. The employment rate of graduates has reached more than 90% for three consecutive years. The college focuses on serving the youth and the society. Over the past 10 years, it has used the adventure education training model to train 200,000 league cadres at all levels, primary and secondary school students, young party and government cadres, volunteer backbones, social workers, etc., and has received good reviews in terms of teaching effectiveness, service level, and training quality. At present, the college is promoting the construction of the league school with the "League Youth" characteristic construction, and building the college into a youth cadre education and training base that is satisfactory to the youth, concerned by the society, and welcomed by the Communist Youth League, a national adventure teacher training base, a national registered volunteer training base, and a national conditions education base for patriotic youth in Hong Kong and Macao.
