Chongqing Tourism Vocational College was established in March 2010. It is a public higher vocational college established by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. The college is located in Qianjiang District, Chongqing, the "Chinese Canyon City Wuling Reception Hall", with a school building area of more than 160,000 square meters. There are more than 500 faculty and staff, including more than 280 doctoral and master's degree holders, more than 50 national and municipal arts and crafts masters, intangible cultural heritage inheritors, and highly skilled talents. The college recruits students from 13 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in the central and western regions, with more than 8,000 students enrolled. In accordance with the professional construction ideas with tourism as the main body, national culture as the feature, and smart tourism as the support, the college has established 6 major professional groups of "business and tourism management, art and cultural tourism, foreign languages and foreign-related tourism, finance and tourism trade, intelligent manufacturing and tourism transportation, big data and smart tourism", and opened 30 majors such as tourism management and hotel management, covering all elements of tourism such as "eating, living, traveling, shopping, and entertainment". Among them, hotel management and tourism management are the backbone majors at the municipal level, and arts and crafts design is one of the "first 100 national vocational colleges for ethnic cultural inheritance and innovation demonstration majors". The college focuses on the central work of talent training, takes quality as the core, takes reform as the driving force, and continuously implements the "eight diversified and integrated" measures to deepen the connotation construction, and steadily improve the quality of cultural and tourism talent training. The college's tour guide professional teaching resource library has become the only "tourism" professional teaching resource library in the city; the tourism management major has been approved as a dual-base construction project for higher vocational education in Chongqing; "National Tour Guide Basic Knowledge" was rated as "Chongqing's boutique online open course" and "online and offline hybrid first-class course"; "China Tourism Geography" was rated as a municipal key project construction textbook. In the past five years, students have won 5 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 15 third prizes in the national competition in the vocational skills competition. The employment rate of graduates is over 95%. The college focuses on serving the "big cultural tourism" and the "Wuling Mountain Cultural Tourism Integration Development Demonstration Zone in Southeast Chongqing" to creatively promote the deep integration of ethnic cultural inheritance and innovation with cultural and tourism talent training. Relying on platforms such as the National Skills Transmission and Innovation Center, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Food Workshop, the National Performing Arts Exhibition Center, the National Traditional Sports Demonstration Base, and the National Culture Lecture Hall, the college has set up 11 transmission rooms, 1 cultural and tourism product creative design room, 6 national intangible cultural heritage food master studios, and 50 food workshops to form a national performing arts team to inherit and develop national culture. The college has been awarded the National Demonstration Base for Traditional Sports Training of Ethnic Minorities, the National Collaborative Innovation Center for Ethnic Handicrafts Technology, the Chongqing Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Base, the Chongqing Arts and Crafts Master Inheritance and Innovation Base, and the Excellent Traditional Culture Study and Travel Base for Primary and Secondary Schools in Southeast Chongqing. It is the vice president unit of the Chongqing Arts and Crafts Association.
