Zhejiang Guangsha Construction Vocational and Technical University (hereinafter referred to as the school) is an undergraduate-level vocational school approved by the Ministry of Education. The school was formerly Zhejiang Guangsha Construction Vocational and Technical College. It was established on the basis of the former Jinhua Urban and Rural Construction School and Zhejiang Radio and Television University Dongyang College. In April 2003, it was approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Government and officially established by the Ministry of Education. In December 2019, it was upgraded to an undergraduate-level vocational school with the approval of the Ministry of Education to carry out a pilot program of undergraduate-level vocational education. The school name is tentatively set as Zhejiang Guangsha Construction Vocational and Technical College (undergraduate). In June 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was officially renamed Zhejiang Guangsha Construction Vocational and Technical University. In August 2021, the school organizer changed, and the school system was changed to state-owned and private. In June 2022, the school obtained the right to confer bachelor's degrees and became the first batch of vocational undergraduate bachelor's degree conferring units in the country. The school is located in the Jinyi Metropolitan Area of Central Zhejiang, and is located in Dongyang City, a provincial historical and cultural city known as the "Hometown of Education, Hometown of Architecture, and Hometown of Arts and Crafts". It covers an area of nearly 2,000 acres and has a construction area of nearly 700,000 square meters. It currently has 15 colleges and more than 17,000 students. The school has a beautiful environment and first-class facilities. It has modern teaching buildings, experimental training rooms, basketball halls, athletic fields, cultural and sports centers, libraries and various living facilities, and the campus information conditions are excellent. According to the 2023 National Private Vocational Undergraduate Colleges Comprehensive Competitiveness Ranking of China Science and Education Evaluation Network, the school's comprehensive strength ranks fourth among the 22 private vocational undergraduate colleges in the country. The school adheres to the mission of "serving regional development and cultivating first-class technical talents", upholds the spirit of "unremitting self-improvement and persistent climbing", and adheres to the school-running philosophy of "student-oriented, education-oriented, quality-oriented, and characteristics-oriented". Closely relying on the advantages of regional industries, it has formed a professional pattern with civil engineering as the leader, advanced equipment manufacturing, electronic information, finance, commerce, and culture and art as the major categories. There are currently 46 majors, including 23 undergraduate majors, 2 national backbone majors and 7 provincial 13th Five-Year Plan specialty majors among the higher vocational majors; the construction engineering technology major has been selected into the list of Zhejiang Province's higher vocational high-level professional group construction. Among the existing vocational undergraduate majors, 14 serve the construction industry, forming a construction professional group covering the entire industrial chain of "decision-making, design, construction and operation". The school presided over and participated in the formulation of national teaching standards for 9 vocational undergraduate majors, and was approved for 6 planned textbooks by the Ministry of Education, 10 planned textbooks by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, 25 provincial new forms of textbooks, and 7 provincial key textbooks. There are 1 national-level online boutique course for vocational education, 6 provincial-level online boutique courses for vocational education, 5 provincial-level boutique online open courses, and 7 provincial-level boutique courses; 8 courses are online on the national smart education platform. The school has won 1 second prize in the national teaching achievement award, 3 first prizes and 2 second prizes in the Zhejiang Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. The school has always implemented the party's education policy, taking moral education as its fundamental task, following the purpose and laws of vocational education development, strengthening quality education and practical ability training, actively promoting the integration of production and education and school-enterprise cooperation, promoting the modern apprenticeship system, and carrying out the "1+X" certificate pilot work in depth (21 "1+X" certificate pilot qualifications have been obtained). In the past five years, the school has obtained 287 vertical scientific research projects at or above the department level, including 3 national-level projects and 96 provincial and ministerial-level projects. 114 invention patents have been authorized. 134 industry-university cooperation projects of the Ministry of Education have been approved. The school offers a variety of entrepreneurial and innovative courses, and organizes the school-level "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Career Planning Competition and "Challenge Cup" Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition every year. In 2024, international students from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Equatorial Guinea will be recruited to jointly build the "China-Congo Silk Road College" with Denis Sassou N'Guesso University in the Republic of Congo.
