Among the five sacred mountains in the world, Nanyue is the most beautiful; Nanyue College is adjacent to Shouyue. With the spirit of Shouyue and the charm of Shigu, Nanyue College of Hengyang Normal University is a full-time undergraduate independent college approved by the Ministry of Education, directly under Hunan Province, and relying on Hengyang Normal University. The college is located in Hengyang, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is adjacent to Nanyue in the north and Xiangjiang River in the east. Nanyue Airport and Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway are surrounded on both sides, and water, land and air transportation are extremely convenient. The college covers an area of nearly 500 acres, with a construction area of about 160,000 square meters. The total value of teaching equipment is nearly 30 million yuan, and there are more than 600,000 books and materials. It also shares the high-quality educational resources of the host school. The college has a beautiful campus environment and is a "garden-style unit" in Hunan Province and a "national advanced unit for college students' social practice activities". In 2010, the college was rated as a "national advanced independent college" by the China Independent College Association. The college is included in the national mission of the general college enrollment plan and recruits students nationwide. The college aims to cultivate applied talents, with a reasonable professional structure and distinctive professional characteristics; it focuses on teacher education and develops in a coordinated manner among multiple disciplines. The college has 15 teaching departments and 36 undergraduate majors registered with the Ministry of Education (including 1 provincial specialty major), covering nine major disciplines such as economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, art, and management.
