Jiangxi Water Conservancy Vocational College is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is affiliated to the Jiangxi Provincial Water Conservancy Department. The school was founded in 1956 (formerly Jiangxi Water Conservancy and Electric Power College). In 2013, the educational and teaching resources of Jiangxi Water Conservancy and Hydropower School, Jiangxi Water Conservancy Engineering Technician College, Jiangxi Irrigation and Drainage Development Center and other educational resources were integrated into Jiangxi Water Conservancy Vocational College, which is the only higher vocational college of water conservancy and hydropower in Jiangxi. The college has excellent school conditions. It currently has two campuses in Baishui Lake and Ganjiang New District, covering an area of more than 1,200 acres. The main campus is located at No. 99 Beishan Road, Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone, adjacent to famous schools in the province such as Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, East China Jiaotong University, and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology; the Changjiu Avenue Campus in Ganjiang New District is under accelerated construction and is scheduled to be put into use in 2024. The college has a beautiful campus environment, sufficient teaching equipment and complete infrastructure. It has a total construction area of more than 500,000 square meters, a collection of 301,200 paper books, 261,660 electronic books, and a sports field of more than 60,000 square meters. It has 6 training buildings, 220 internship (training) venues and laboratories, and off-campus internship bases in Xiajiang, Gongqingcheng and other places, providing a good platform for cultivating students' practical ability and professional skills. The college teachers have won more than 60 awards in the teaching skills competitions of provincial and above vocational colleges, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the college. Among them, the two majors of water conservancy and hydropower construction engineering and animation production technology are provincial high-level professional groups, the hydrology and water resources major is a national high-quality water conservancy major, there are 8 pilot majors of modern apprenticeship at the provincial level and above, 11 provincial-level boutique online courses, and 30 pilot qualifications for the national "1+X" vocational skill level certificate have been successfully applied for. The school has good educational results and insists on talent cultivation as the center, building a talent cultivation system with industry-specific characteristics that integrates production and education, and combines education and training, and actively cultivates students' practical and innovative capabilities.
