Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU, referred to as "XJTLU") is a new type of international university with independent legal personality and distinctive characteristics, approved by the Ministry of Education of China, jointly established by Xi'an Jiaotong University and the University of Liverpool in the UK. It is currently the largest Sino-foreign cooperative university in China. It started with science, engineering and management, and has the right to confer degrees from the People's Republic of China and the University of Liverpool in the UK. Leading the reform of higher education Since its establishment on May 23, 2006, XJTU has explored and created a unique "five-star" education model and student development system, established and improved a modern university management and operation mechanism suitable for the needs of future society, and built a high-level talent team. Among the 3,427 graduates, 2,970 chose to study at home and abroad, including 26 direct doctoral students, 2,938 went abroad to study for a master's degree, and 6 went to study for a master's degree in China; another 225 chose to work. The main employers of graduates who chose to work are: China Aerospace Science and Industry, China Huadian, State Grid, China Telecom, the Big Four accounting firms, China Construction Group, China Railway Construction, Sinopec, SAIC Group, Tencent, Procter & Gamble, ByteDance, JD.com, the four major state-owned banks, etc. Among the 2022 mainland (mainland) master's and doctoral graduates, 831 master's graduates chose to work and 74 continued their studies. The schools for further study include Yale University, New York University, Columbia University, University of Science and Technology of China, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Zhejiang University. 38 doctoral graduates chose to work. The main employers include Tsinghua University, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, Soochow University, Suzhou Institute of Nanotechnology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Alibaba, China Micro Semiconductor and Zhongtai Securities. Create a research-oriented university Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTU) takes the creation of a research-oriented international university as its development direction, integrates the resources of three universities in two countries, and serves the local economic and social development.
