The school was founded in 1980. It is one of the first ten kindergarten colleges approved by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first batch of local skill-based high-level university construction units in Anhui Province and a "benchmark school for higher vocational development in Anhui Province". The Xuelin Road campus covers an area of 427 acres and a construction area of 215,000 square meters. The new campus in Meichong Lake covers an area of 442 acres and a construction area of 258,000 square meters. The school has won the second prize of national teaching achievements twice, the first prize of the first national excellent textbook, and was selected as the first batch of national vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams. It has been approved as a national language and writing promotion base, and was rated as an advanced collective for the promotion and popularization of the national general language and writing by the Ministry of Education. More than 600 students have won provincial awards, including more than 40 national awards. The first batch of senior kindergarten teachers in Anhui Province are all graduates of the school. The school has trained more than 400 kindergarten teachers for Pishan County, Xinjiang for 12 consecutive years, and nearly 1,000 kindergarten teachers for the old revolutionary base of Jinzhai for 9 consecutive years. For 7 consecutive years, it has trained more than 1,600 public-funded normal students for rural primary schools in Anhui. It jointly trains undergraduates with Anhui Normal University and currently recruits undergraduates in three majors: preschool education, English education, and art education. Social services are widely praised. The school has trained about 96,000 teachers and principals for the society.
