Jiangxi Manufacturing Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1978 as the Jiangxi Mechanical Workers University. It is located in Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi Province, and is directly managed by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education. In June 2004, it was approved by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government to be converted into a general higher vocational college. In November of the same year, the Jiangxi Institute of Mechanical Science, a provincial key scientific research institute, was incorporated into the school as a whole. In 2020, the school was recognized by the Provincial Department of Education as a high-quality junior college higher vocational college in Jiangxi Province. In 2023, the school was selected as a high-level vocational school in Jiangxi Province. The school has three campuses: Aixi Lake, Shanghai Road, and Dinggong Road. There are 4 national training bases and 1 national intelligent manufacturing collaborative innovation center, including mold manufacturing production training base, automobile whole vehicle training base, CNC technology vocational education training base, and factory digital virtual simulation training base, as well as 3 provincial professional skills training centers such as electronic information technology, mold manufacturing technology, and liberal arts comprehensive training center. There are 92 training laboratories of various types, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is more than 98 million yuan.
