The school has a long history and profound cultural accumulation. The predecessor of Baoshan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was the national key technical secondary school Baoshan Health School founded in June 1965. In February 2006, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to the only public full-time general higher vocational college in Yunnan Province with distinctive characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and coordinated development of Chinese and Western medicine. The school passed the talent training work evaluation of higher vocational colleges in 2011; passed the public physical education course teaching evaluation in 2014; passed the characteristic evaluation in 2016; moved to the new campus as a whole in 2017, and passed the ideological and political theory course construction evaluation. The nursing major ranked first in the five-star A grade in the evaluation of nursing higher vocational education majors in Yunnan universities; the teaching innovation team of teachers in acupuncture and massage and clinical medicine majors was selected as the first batch of vocational education teacher teaching innovation team project construction units in Yunnan Province; in 2022, it was established as a provincial "double high" school cultivation unit. We carry out Tai Chi and Yi Jin Jing morning exercises, TCM culture lectures, create TCM classic recitation brand activities, vigorously promote the "three advances" of TCM culture, fully explore the contemporary value of TCM culture, and actively cultivate the core socialist values. We focus on foreign exchanges and cooperation, actively expand the field of foreign exchanges, and actively integrate into the national "Belt and Road" initiative.
