Continuing education is an important part of talent cultivation and social services of Capital Normal University. Based on the school-running orientation of "Capital Normal University is a teacher", the school adheres to the basic education of the capital, radiates the professional development of teachers across the country, actively serves the national development strategy, and helps build a high-quality education system for lifelong learning for all people. The school has 1 curriculum ideological and political demonstration project (continuing education) of the Ministry of Education, 1 curriculum ideological and political demonstration project (continuing education) of Beijing, 2 municipal continuing education specialty majors, and 2 high-level teaching teams of continuing education in Beijing universities; it has successively won 2 national and provincial and ministerial higher education teaching achievements, more than 60 municipal subject competitions and outstanding graduation thesis awards. At present, the school has 23 academic continuing education majors (including professional directions) at the undergraduate level of high school and junior college, with a student scale of more than 7,000. At the same time, it organizes various forms and types of non-academic continuing education, including training for key teachers, special training for cadres, counterpart support education training, professional qualification certificate training, and on-the-job training. After more than 60 years of hard work and development, the school has provided the society with more than 90,000 academic continuing education graduates and more than 400,000 non-academic training students. It has served the economic, social and educational development needs of Beijing and the country, better met the people's growing demand for continuing education development, and made due contributions to the construction of a lifelong education system and a learning society as a "Double First-Class" university.
