Hunan Labor and Personnel Vocational College is located at No. 1319, Kaiyuan East Road, Xingsha Industrial Base, Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, a national-level college. It is adjacent to Changsha Huanghua International Airport and Changsha Airport Economic Demonstration Zone in the east, and Songya Lake National Wetland Park in the northwest. It belongs to the core area of Changsha Section of China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The college covers an area of 435 acres, with a total construction area of about 160,000 square meters and a total investment of about 719 million yuan. The Hunan Provincial Public Training and Personnel Examination Base, the Hunan Provincial Training Base for Electrical Installations, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Projects of the World Skills Competition, and the Hunan Vocational Training Institute are all located in the college. The college was formerly the Hunan Provincial Labor Bureau Technical School established in January 1982. In April 1987, the General Office of the Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of the Hunan Provincial Labor and Personnel School. In February 1998, the former Hunan Provincial Planning Commission and the Hunan Provincial Labor Department jointly issued a document agreeing to restore the Hunan Provincial Labor Technical School, and to run the school under two names and one team with the Hunan Provincial Labor and Personnel School; in April 2010, it was promoted and renamed the Hunan Provincial Labor Senior Technical School. In August 2010, the Provincial People's Government agreed to prepare for the establishment of Hunan Technician College. In April 2013, the Provincial People's Government agreed to set up the Hunan Labor and Personnel Vocational College, and abolished the Hunan Labor and Personnel School. In April 2014, the Hunan Labor and Personnel Vocational College was registered with the Ministry of Education as a higher vocational college at the junior college level. The college currently has more than 10,000 students, more than 350 faculty and staff, and more than 250 full-time teachers. Most of the full-time teachers have full-time master's and doctoral degrees. There are a group of provincial professional leaders, provincial college young backbone teachers and domestic visiting scholars. The college has four departments and two divisions, including the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Quality and Information Technology, the Department of Commerce and Tourism, the Department of Basic Courses, and the Department of Ideological and Political Theory. It offers 20 majors, including human resources management, physical and chemical testing and quality inspection technology, big data technology and application, industrial robot technology, heating, ventilation and air conditioning engineering technology, and early childhood development and health management. In July 2022, the two professional groups of human resources management and cross-border e-commerce in our college were selected as the construction units of the high-level vocational professional groups of Chuyi in Hunan Province. In recent years, the teachers of the college have not forgotten their original aspirations, kept their mission in mind, insisted on establishing themselves with morality, establishing learning with morality, and teaching with morality, and have achieved gratifying results in running schools. In August 2021, the "Hong Xiaofang" Hunan Mayang Selenium-rich Ancient Brown Sugar Project guided by the Department of Commerce and Tourism of our college won the first prize in the 7th Hunan Province "Internet +" College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and won the bronze medal in the China International "Internet +" College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. In July 2022, Cheng Yuankang, a student of the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, won the gold medal in the refrigeration and air-conditioning competition at the first Hunan Vocational Skills Competition. In May 2023, our college signed a strategic agreement on school-enterprise cooperation with BYD Co., Ltd. to establish BYD Industrial College. In February 2023, our college and the Hunan Red Cross Society held a signing and awarding ceremony for the "Hunan Red Cross Emergency Rescue Training Base", and the two parties jointly built the first Red Cross spirit demonstration university in Hunan Province; in September 2023, our college was selected as the second batch of national school first aid education pilot units. Faced with the new situation and new opportunities of the national vocational education reform, the college actively explores new models of integration of industry and education, and deeply promotes the comprehensive education of "job courses, competitions and certificates". It takes the construction of "one body and two wings" development as the guide (taking the operation of higher vocational education as the main body, and expanding and strengthening vocational skills training and technical education as the two wings), focusing on winning the "three major battles" (actively participating in the "Chuyi" action of Hunan Vocational Education, building a sample of Hunan Vocational Education Highland College, and continuously promoting the subsequent infrastructure construction of the college), and aims to build "four major platforms" (co-building an industry-education integration platform, a school-enterprise cooperation platform, a World Skills base platform, and a skills training platform with Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone). It takes the "five major advantages" as the starting point, namely the policy advantages of the country's strong support for the high-quality development of vocational education; Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, where the college is located, has existing industrial enterprises above designated size. There are more than 240 enterprises, more than 100 enterprises with an annual output value of more than 100 million yuan, and more than 30 Fortune 500 investment enterprises. In 2020, the total industrial output value reached 253.05 billion yuan. It has become the core growth pole and important driving force of economic development in the central region. It is known as the "No. 1 Park in Hunan Province", which provides a broad space and important platform for our college to promote the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and employment and entrepreneurship for students, forming a strong industrial cluster advantage and unique location advantage; our college is sponsored by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Provincial Department of Education is in charge of the dual management and dual support of the system advantage; the project advantage of the Hunan Provincial Training Base for the Electrical Installation, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Project of the World Skills Competition and the first vocational training institute in Hunan Province settled in our college, contributing to the realization of the beautiful blueprint of "three highs and four new" and the strategy of "strong provincial capital". In recent years, the college has successively won the honorary titles of "National Advanced Unit for Vocational Guidance Work", "Hunan Province Safe College Project Unit", "Hunan Province Advanced Unit for Comprehensive Governance Work", "Hunan Civilized College", and "Hunan Provincial Civilized Model Campus".
