Shanxi Railway Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1958. It is a public full-time general higher vocational school approved by the People's Government of Shanxi Province. It is located in Taiyuan, a national pilot city for industry-education integration. It is a national modern apprenticeship pilot unit, a "Double High Plan" construction unit in Shanxi Province, a "14th Five-Year Plan" education power promotion project construction unit, and a "Ministry of Education Vocational Education Informatization Benchmark School" construction unit. The first batch of "Digital Campus Construction" pilot schools of vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education, Shanxi Province Industry-Education Integration Special Contribution Award Unit, China Communications Industry Association Rail Transit Industry-Education Alliance Executive Director Unit, China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association Rail Transit Intelligent Manufacturing and Operation and Maintenance Collaborative Innovation Platform Vice Chairman Unit, "Belt and Road" and BRICS Skill Development International Alliance Transportation Vocational Education and Skills Development Working Committee Deputy Director Unit, selected as a typical case of vocational education reform and development and international exchange and cooperation of the Ministry of Education, and the only special exchange was conducted at the National School-Enterprise Cooperation Experience Exchange Conference (co-organized by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the China Vocational Education Society). As the only public railway college in Shanxi Province, the college has established a "4+2+N" professional group mainly in railways, and offers majors such as railway signal automatic control, urban rail transit electromechanical technology, railway power supply technology, urban rail transit communication signal technology, railway vehicle technology, railway locomotive operation and maintenance, railway transportation operation management, railway logistics management, urban rail transit operation management, high-speed railway passenger service, and urban rail transit engineering technology, forming a professional construction feature with rail transit as the leader and driving the development of other related majors. The college has built a comprehensive rail transit training center, a locomotive brake training center, a locomotive running gear training center, a rail transit intelligent manufacturing training base, a rail engineering training base, etc., and has worked with China Railway 12th Bureau and China Railway Electrification North Company to build off-campus practice bases. The college has carried out in-depth cooperation with China Railway Taiyuan Bureau, Taiyuan Rail Transit Development Co., Ltd., Jinyulu Railway Channel Co., Ltd., Zhongding Logistics Park, Huayuan International Land Port Group, Shanxi Antai Group, Shanxi Meijin Energy, Shanxi Yaxin Group, etc., and won the Special Contribution Award for Industry-Education Integration Units in Shanxi Province. The college has won the Shanxi Province "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outstanding Organization Award for four consecutive years, the provincial gold medal for three consecutive years, and the silver medal in the national finals in one year; it won the national championship of the World Robot Championship. The college actively hosted the Shanxi Provincial Selection of the 13th Urban Rail Transit Train Driver Skills Competition, the 16th Urban Rail Transit Signal Control System Design and Application Skills Competition, and the BRICS Vocational Skills Competition Railway Signal Equipment Maintenance Skills Competition, and participated in the BRICS Urban Rail Transit Signal Maintenance Technology Competition Urban Rail Transit Engineering Technology, the Belt and Road BRICS Urban Rail Transit Service Competition Shanxi Provincial Selection, and the Shanxi Province Third Vocational College Skills Competition-Rail Vehicle Technology Competition, etc., and won the honorary title of "National Brand Influence Higher Vocational College".
