Jinzhou Teachers College (hereinafter referred to as Jinzhou Teachers College) is located in Jinzhou, a central city in western Liaoning with convenient transportation and located on the coast of the Bohai Sea. It is a full-time public general higher vocational college approved by the State Council and registered by the Ministry of Education. The predecessor of Jinzhou Teachers College was the Fengtian Provincial Fourth Normal School established in 1914, which has a history of 108 years this year. Teacher education is a traditional advantage major of our school. In the long-term practice of running schools, the teacher education major has formed a fine tradition and continued to innovate. In terms of curriculum setting and ability training, it has formed a complete and mature training model and system. The "Course Plan for Primary Education Major (General Teacher) of Normal Colleges" has been adopted by the Provincial Department of Education for promotion throughout the province. For more than 100 years, it has trained a large number of excellent basic education teachers for western Liaoning, Liaoning and even the whole country, and is a well-known brand of basic education teachers in Liaoning Province. In 1998, the school began to offer higher vocational education majors. At that time, it was the first and only normal college in the province to pilot higher vocational education. Higher vocational and technical education has always adhered to the purpose of serving local economic construction and employment-oriented professional construction. It reforms the talent training model based on professional and technical positions and ability training, implements industry-university cooperation, work-study integration, and order training, and highlights the characteristics of running schools. The reform of talent training models won the provincial excellent teaching achievement award in 2009 and 2014. Over the past 20 years, it has trained a large number of high-skilled talents needed for production, construction, management, and service front lines for Liaoning's economic construction. The school covers an area of 285 acres and a construction area of 140,000 square meters; the total value of fixed assets is 110 million yuan. The school has standardized student dormitories, canteens, athletic fields and gymnasiums. The library has a construction area of 4,627 square meters and a collection of more than 510,000 books. The school's scientific research projects, scientific research achievements, teaching achievements, and high-quality courses are among the best in the province's junior colleges. In the past three years, it has undertaken a total of 198 scientific research projects, published 81 academic works and textbooks, published 388 academic papers, and 5 courses have been rated as provincial high-quality courses. The school currently has 38 full-time teacher education and higher vocational and technical education majors, including 1 provincial high-level characteristic professional group, 2 provincial brand majors, and 2 provincial education reform pilot majors, with 8,719 students. The school adheres to the principle of "surviving by quality, promoting development by reform, increasing efficiency by management, and creating brand by characteristics", insists on the central position of education and teaching in the school's work, focuses on connotation development, and is committed to improving the level of education and teaching and the quality of talent training, enjoying a high reputation among similar institutions. In recent years, the school's core competitiveness has been continuously enhanced, and the rate of new students and the employment rate of graduates are among the best in similar institutions in the province. The construction project of the Binhai New Campus of Jinzhou Teachers College has been listed as a key project of the city in 2015.
