Suzhou Industrial Park Vocational and Technical College (IVT), a training unit of high-level vocational schools with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu Province and one of the 100 "national exemplary higher vocational colleges" in China, is located in the most competitive national development zone in China, the Sino-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park. It was proposed by former Singaporean Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in 1997. The school has successfully learned from the school-running model of Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore and has formed three major school-running characteristics: mixed ownership, deep integration of schools and enterprises, and international cooperation and exchange. The school follows the school-running idea of "international vocational education concepts, local innovation practices, and regional achievement sharing", relying on the strong financial strength and high-quality brand resources of Suzhou Guanghua Education Group, closely following the talent needs of the park industry and the development needs of students, based in the park, facing the Yangtze River Delta, and radiating across the country, it has cultivated nearly 40,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents with international competitiveness for regional economic development, and has won wide praise from enterprises, students, governments, and society. The school has five colleges, namely, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Artificial Intelligence, the School of Architecture and Art, the School of Business, and the School of Humanities and International Studies. Facing the needs of regional shortages and emerging industries, it has opened 53 majors, including mechatronics technology, industrial robot technology, automobile inspection and maintenance technology, mechanical design and manufacturing, electrical automation technology, computer network technology, urban rail transit communication signal technology, pharmaceutical biotechnology, engineering cost, modern logistics management, big data and accounting, digital media art design, etc., covering the main industrial fields in Suzhou and fully meeting the employment needs of all students. The school has a faculty with high professional level, strong practical ability, and sufficient engineering experience, as well as a production-oriented, industrialized, and R&D professional teaching and training base. It has successively cooperated with Bosch Automotive Components (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., Samsung Electronics (Suzhou) Semiconductor Co., Ltd., Suzhou Tongfu Chaowei Semiconductor Co., Ltd., Emerson Environmental Optimization Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. and other Fortune 500 companies, as well as leading companies in aerospace, biomedicine, architectural decoration, modern logistics and other industries to build 108 on-campus training rooms. The school has continuously innovated its education model, and the reforms of "three teachings" such as "teaching factory", "24-person small class teaching", "project-based teaching", "modern apprenticeship", "1+X certificate system", "broad foundation + active modules", and "loose-leaf textbooks" have been steadily promoted. The school's performance has been well received by all sectors of society. It has been identified as a research base for "Chairs of Higher Engineering Education and Industrial Cooperation" by UNESCO; and has been awarded the title of "Advanced Collective for Graduate Employment Work" by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education for many consecutive years.
