Moutai Institute is a non-profit full-time applied undergraduate college established by China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd. and approved by the Ministry of Education on May 23, 2017. The first undergraduate class was enrolled in 2017, and there are currently 4,961 full-time students. The school is located in the southern new town of Renhuai City, Guizhou Province, the "China Wine Capital", covering an area of 1,076.2 acres and a building area of 254,000 square meters. It has advanced teaching and scientific research facilities and equipment, rich library collection resources, a high degree of campus informatization and intelligence, and comfortable and convenient learning and living environment conditions. The school builds disciplines and majors around the wine industry chain, and currently has 15 undergraduate majors including liquor brewing engineering, wine engineering, grape and wine engineering, food quality and safety, food science and engineering, resource recycling science and engineering, environmental science and engineering, automation, packaging engineering, marketing, e-commerce, logistics management, hotel management, tourism management, and seed science and engineering. Among them, the major of liquor brewing engineering is a major outside the catalog of the Ministry of Education; light industry technology and engineering and sociology have been approved as provincial key support disciplines; brewing engineering and resource recycling science and engineering have been approved to enter the ranks of provincial first-class professional construction. The school gives full play to its talent advantages and conducts research projects in the fields of brewing, wine culture, wine marketing, resource recycling, etc. It has established 4 provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms, 20 national scientific research projects, 36 provincial and ministerial projects, and 253 municipal and departmental projects. The school has a strong teaching staff with both full-time and part-time teachers. There are 509 faculty members, including 113 doctors. The school also hired brewing masters, brewers, and national and provincial wine evaluation committee members as internship and training teachers; specially hired academicians of related disciplines, Yangtze River Scholars and other high-level experts and industry masters as specially appointed or visiting professors.
