Shijiazhuang Vocational College of Science and Technology Information was founded in October 1987. In May 2003, it was approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education of China as a provincial full-time junior college with the qualification to independently issue higher education diplomas. In 2021, the college started recruiting students for the technical secondary school department, and at the same time carried out full-time secondary vocational education to enrich the level of school operation. Since its establishment, it has always adhered to the school-running philosophy of "education-oriented, serving students, and serving the society" and the school motto of "virtue, erudition, self-reliance, and truth-seeking". It has now fully entered the connotation development period of "strengthening quality internally and building image externally"; the construction of the college's software and hardware resources has been improved year by year, and it has gradually moved towards a "double high in the province and well-known nationwide" higher vocational college, and strived to cultivate more compound high-end and high-quality technical and skilled talents with an international perspective for the society. The talent training work of the college has always adhered to the school-running direction of facing the market, serving development, intelligent innovation, and promoting employment and entrepreneurship. It keeps pace with the new industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization, and connects with the national key strategies such as the "Made in China 2025" manufacturing power strategy, the "Belt and Road" education action plan, and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The professional construction is in line with the regional economic and social development. At present, it has basically formed a distinctive university with distinctive characteristics, outstanding advantages, and the ability to inherit culture and serve the society. In the future, it will continue to improve its core competitiveness and sustainable development capabilities, realize multi-channel, multi-type, and diversified talent training models, and comprehensively build a modern "all-staff education, full-process education, and all-round education" education system. (I) Geographical location of the college campus The college has two campuses, and the main campus is located in the Southwest Higher Education Zone of Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, the political, cultural, educational and economic center of Hebei Province. The new Lingshou campus is located in the western part of Hebei Province, on the east side of Taihang Mountain, in the Lingshou County Economic Development Zone, 35 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital Shijiazhuang. The Beijing-Kunming, Taihang Mountain Expressway and Shuohuang Railway pass through the area. The opening of the high-speed rail has integrated Lingshou County into the one-hour economic circle of Beijing, Tianjin and Xiong'an New Area. (II) Overall Overview of the College After 36 years of running the school, various institutions of the college have gradually improved. In order to implement the party's education policy, adhere to the socialist direction of running schools, and consolidate the guiding position of Marxism in the field of ideology, a special school of Marxism was established; there are secondary colleges such as medicine and pharmaceutical engineering, artificial intelligence, electronics and communications, preschool education and art design, electromechanical engineering and transportation, economic management, and continuing education; there are two teaching departments, the Basic Department and the Sports Department; there are two experimental (practical training) centers and library teaching and auxiliary institutions. The college has gradually formed a discipline and professional system with medicine, electronic information, electromechanical, transportation, economics and management, normal education, art design and other disciplines as the main professional groups, and coordinated development of engineering, science, medicine, economics and management, art design and other disciplines. The college offers 56 disciplines (including professional directions), and 15 disciplines in the secondary vocational school. A group of science and technology ecological majors has been formed, mainly focusing on majors related to "artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things, and big data". The current student population has reached 20,640, including 719 secondary vocational school students; and 18,733 students enrolled in adult higher education. The college continues to strengthen the construction of the faculty team. The college currently has 1,106 teachers, including 203 associate professors and above. The structure of the faculty team is relatively stable, meeting the needs of education and teaching. The college currently has a total value of 91.02 million yuan in teaching instruments and equipment. The college has more than 100 off-campus training bases covering various disciplines and majors, and the library has 1.35 million paper books and 150,000 electronic books of various types, which greatly meets the needs of teaching and experimental training tasks for general education and adult education students. The college successfully passed the talent training work evaluation of the Ministry of Education in May 2007 and May 2012. The college actively implements the important instructions such as "integration of vocational and general education, integration of industry and education, and integration of science and education", from "school-enterprise cooperation" to "integration of industry and education", and then to "integration of industry, education and city", anchoring the development positioning of high-level skill-based universities, and comprehensively promoting "three integrations". At present, the college has carried out the joint construction of industry-education integration majors with 22 enterprises, and has established off-campus internship practice teaching bases with 316 enterprises, and more than 200 employment and entrepreneurship practice innovation bases across the country. The college has co-built 8 application technology collaborative innovation centers with enterprises, co-built and co-managed an e-commerce industrial park with the provincial economic development zone of Lingshou County, a municipal innovation and entrepreneurship incubation base for small and medium-sized enterprises, and 5 public training bases for five major professional groups; 6 industrial colleges: Cultural Tourism Industry College, Aviation Transportation Industry College, Automobile (New Energy) Industry College, Digital Information Industry College, Preschool Education Industry College, and Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College. The college focuses on cultivating innovative capabilities and actively builds an entrepreneurial employment platform for students. It has built an innovation and entrepreneurship incubation base, and introduced more than 60 companies such as Xidian Group and Yalian Trading Group to move in; it has deeply carried out the industry-education integration school-enterprise collaborative education and training model with 38 companies such as Cisco Systems (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd., Changan Automobile Group, Wuxi ZTE Education Management Co., Ltd., and Beijing Qianfeng Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd., and established an industry-education integration school-enterprise cooperation order class, which has built a platform for students to find employment, and students can find employment upon graduation. The college has established a national vocational skills appraisal institute with the approval of the Hebei Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. More than 20 kinds of vocational skills training services have been carried out, including practicing nurses, teacher qualifications, junior accountants, computer maintenance, CAD draftsmen, high and low voltage electrical work, high-altitude operations, automobile repairmen, nutritionists, etc. The college has established cooperative relations with more than 500 companies such as Cisco Systems (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd. and Hebei Airlines Swan International Travel Agency, providing a reliable guarantee for improving students' professional skills. (III) International cultural exchanges In order to build a diversified discipline construction system, introduce international high-quality educational resources, and expand the vision of international talent training, the college attaches great importance to foreign cooperation and cultural exchanges, and gradually builds a training model for talents with global comprehensive qualities. The college actively cooperates with Cisco in the United States to establish the Cisco Network Technology College of Shijiazhuang Science and Technology Information Vocational College, bringing global high-quality industry education resources to the campus. Under the guidance of the country's "Belt and Road" strategy, in December 2019, the dean of the college led a team to the University of Management andTechnology (Management Technology University) conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the cooperation model, cooperative majors, teaching plan formulation, teacher training and cooperation in establishing foreign branches, and actively expanded the "Belt and Road" education cooperation model. In July 2023, the dean and secretary of the college led a team to visit Thai universities. Thailand is a country along the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and one of the earliest participants and practitioners of the "Belt and Road" initiative. China and Thailand have achieved fruitful results in political mutual trust, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural exchanges. It has not only set a model for the "Belt and Road" cooperation, but also set a model for building a new type of international relations. At present, the college has signed a cooperation agreement on the master's degree program with the University of Newcastle, Australia (QS173), and our graduates can go directly to Australia to study for a master's degree. At the same time, our college has signed joint training cooperation agreements with many universities such as Chiang Mai University (QS601), Siam University, North Chiang Mai University and Thanyaburi Royal University of Technology, to carry out 1+3 undergraduate, 2+2 undergraduate and master's and doctoral programs. Our college has established international classes for Sino-foreign cooperation with Busan National University, Cheongju National University and Daejeon National University in South Korea. Both sides have implemented mutual recognition of credits. Our graduates can directly enter Korean undergraduate programs and obtain full-time undergraduate diplomas issued by Korean universities. The above-mentioned cooperative schools have obtained certification qualifications from the Ministry of Education of China and the Foreign Affairs Supervision Network. Overseas graduation certificates can obtain academic certification reports at the Ministry of Education's Overseas Study Service Center. The college also actively conducts multi-angle, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural academic discussions and research studies with countries such as the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, Germany, Malaysia, and Japan, and establishes international cooperation projects to give full play to the coordination and mutual progress of high-quality educational resources between schools. Through extensive cooperation and exchanges, the college has absorbed advanced foreign school-running concepts, educational models and talent training programs, providing a good platform for expanding the college's diverse educational and cultural atmosphere, students' further studies and employment abroad, and teachers' further studies. (IV) Campus construction and development status and planning The total planned area of the college is more than 1,660 acres, the Shijiazhuang campus covers an area of 257 acres, and the Lingshou new campus is planned to cover an area of more than 1,400 acres. The total investment is about 3 billion yuan, and the planned construction area is about 630,000 square meters. The main construction projects include teaching buildings, libraries, scientific research training buildings, entrepreneurial office buildings, international exchange centers, art centers, gymnasiums, swimming pools, sports fields, student dormitories, staff dormitories, kindergartens, canteens, etc. After the completion of the project, the scale of students can accommodate more than 20,000 people. As of September 2021, the first and second phases of the new campus have been completed and put into use. Among them: the first phase covers an area of 209 acres and a construction area of more than 90,000 square meters. It has an innovation and entrepreneurship building, teaching area, training building, sports area, etc.; the student living area of the second phase project (including plastic playground, tennis court, catering center, campus supermarket, infirmary, bathing and fitness, etc.) covers an area of 316 acres and a planned construction area of 190,000 square meters. 17 student dormitory buildings, 2 canteens, a cultural square, a plastic sports field, tennis courts, sports rooms, a swimming pool, a Times Square, a infirmary, a commercial service building, etc. have been built. The functional zoning is clear, and the modern smart campus has begun to take shape, which can meet the teaching, training, life and extracurricular activities needs of the college's students.
