Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College is located in Changzhou, the Pearl of Jiangnan and the Capital of New Energy. It is a public full-time general college under the jurisdiction of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It is a construction unit of a high-level vocational college with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu Province. The college was formerly the "Jiangsu Urban Construction School" founded in 1986 and the "Changzhou Construction Workers University" founded in 1979. In February 2015, with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the two schools merged to form Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College. There are currently three campuses in Yincun, Qingtan and Hutang, with a total area of 813 acres and a total construction area of more than 270,000 square meters. Among them, the Yincun campus is located at No. 1 Heyu Road, Yincun Vocational Education Park, Zhonglou District, Changzhou City, with a total asset value of 1.293 billion yuan. The library currently has 665,913 paper books and 176,000 electronic books. The college is a training base for skilled talents in short supply in the construction industry of the country and Jiangsu Province. It is one of the first batch of pilot units for vocational skills appraisal in the housing and urban-rural construction industry in the country. It is the deputy director unit of the Engineering Management Professional Guidance Committee of the National Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee, the vice chairman unit of the China Construction Education Association, the director unit of the Secondary Vocational Committee of the China Construction Education Association, and the vice chairman unit of the Jiangsu Construction Education Association. It is also the executive director unit of the China Green University Alliance. The college has successively won the titles of National Advanced Vocational Education Unit, Jiangsu Province Advanced Moral Education Collective, Provincial Civilized Unit (campus), Provincial "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" Building Energy Conservation and Green Building Advanced Collective, and National High-skilled Talent Cultivation Outstanding Contribution Unit. It won the first prize of the National Green Building Innovation Award, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government High-quality Assessment Striving for Advancement Award, the Excellent Organization Award of the Jiangsu Vocational College Skills Competition, and the Outstanding Contribution Award of the National Vocational College Skills Competition. The college has 11 teaching units, including the School of Architecture and Art, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Management Engineering, the School of Public Utilities, the School of Equipment Engineering, the Department of Ideological and Political Education (School of Marxism), the Department of Physical Education, the Department of Basic Education, the School of Continuing Education, the School of International Education, and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education. The college adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, aims at the development positioning of "high-level vocational colleges with distinctive industries", and continuously optimizes the professional settings. The college offers a total of 39 higher vocational majors, including 23 majors in civil engineering and construction, and the other 16 majors cover 7 major categories related to civil engineering and construction, including culture and art, resources, environment and safety, transportation, finance and trade, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, electronics and information, energy and power and materials. The college has distinctive characteristics in the construction industry. It focuses on creating two provincial high-level professional groups, "engineering cost" and "building intelligent engineering technology", and five school-level high-level professional groups, including "construction engineering technology" and "architectural design". It has established 5 characteristic industry colleges such as "China Construction Intelligent Construction Industry College", "Digital Construction Full Process Engineering Consulting Industry College", and "Intelligent Internet of Things Industry College" in cooperation with industry leading enterprises such as China Construction Eighth Bureau, Provincial Construction Group, and Tus Design. It has carried out order training and modern apprenticeship cooperation with 13 enterprises and schools inside and outside the province, and jointly built an integrated overpass for further study and employment. In recent years, the employment rate of students has remained stable at more than 95%. The college attaches great importance to the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial high-quality technical and skilled talents. It has been awarded one of the first batch of "Golden Courses" and "Golden Teachers" teams in the country for professional and creative integration, and has been awarded 38 provincial vocational college student innovation and entrepreneurship training program projects.
