Xinjiang Normal College is a college with a century-old history and profound cultural heritage. Its predecessor was Xinjiang Normal School, which was founded in 1906. In 1955, it was renamed "Urumqi First Normal School". In September 1978, Xinjiang Education College was established on the basis of Urumqi First Normal School. Since then, Xinjiang Radio and Television Normal University, Xinjiang Industrial Technology School, and Xinjiang Preschool Normal School have been successively merged into our school. In 2012, the school was renamed Xinjiang Normal College (Xinjiang Education College). For more than a hundred years, the school has always followed the school motto of "virtue and inspiration, learning and practice", always adhered to the socialist direction of running schools, adhered to the school-running philosophy of "people-oriented, quality-oriented, highlighting characteristics, and serving the society", adhered to the connotative development path, fully implemented the party's education policy, implemented the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating people, educated people for the party and cultivated talents for the country, and cultivated a large number of talents for preschool and basic education teachers in the autonomous region. In recent years, the school has actively connected with the urgent need for high-quality technical and skilled personnel in regional economic and social development, and vigorously developed vocational education with Chinese characteristics. The school has successively won the titles of National Advanced Collective for National Unity and Progress, National Civilized Unit, National Civilized Campus, Advanced Unit for Ideological and Political Work of College Students in the Autonomous Region, and Model Unit for National Unity in Urumqi. The school currently has three campuses (Yaxin Campus, Guangming Campus, and Wuxing Campus), covering an area of more than 1,190 acres and a total building area of 446,000 square meters; nearly 12,000 ordinary college students and more than 266 ordinary undergraduate students; 661 full-time teachers, 184 teachers with associate senior titles or above, accounting for 27.8% of the total number of teachers with professional titles; 371 teachers with master's degrees or above, accounting for 56.1%, and "double-qualified" teachers account for 54.6%. There are 4 experts with special allowances from the State Council (currently 1 in office and 3 retired), and 4 people have been selected for the Tianshan Talent Training Program of the Autonomous Region. There are 11 teaching units including the School of Marxism, the School of Preschool Education, and the Vocational and Technical College, covering 49 enrollment majors such as tourism management and preschool education. The school vigorously promotes education and teaching reforms, innovates talent training models, and attaches importance to practical teaching links. It has 2 autonomous region-level key professional groups, 10 high-level school-level key professional groups, 1 autonomous region-level boutique online course, 77 school-level boutique courses, 3 autonomous region-level master studios, and 100 school-level ideological and political demonstration courses. There are 4 pilot projects for the joint training of applied talents between higher vocational education and undergraduate education. The school actively promotes the integration of industry and education, and school-enterprise cooperation. It has been approved for 7 autonomous region training base construction projects, 1 autonomous region industry-education integration training base, and co-hosted 2 national-level teaching resource libraries. 122 "1+X" certificate pilot projects have been applied for. The school has steadily promoted the construction of a high-quality application-oriented talent training system and expanded the school's educational resources in many ways. Together with the Urumqi Education Bureau and the Corps Education Bureau, it has created the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Corps' 12th Division's military-local integration of the city's industry-education consortium. The school has reached cooperation agreements with 261 well-known companies such as Great Wall Group, Alibaba Group, and Jiuding Group, and has jointly led the establishment of the National Education Information Creation and Cryptography Industry Industry-Education Integration Community with Aerospace Information Software Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and has deeply participated in 16 industry-education integration communities. The school attaches great importance to scientific research. There are 8 scientific research institutions and laboratories of various types, among which the "Xinjiang Education Cloud Technology and Resources Laboratory" is a key laboratory of the autonomous region, and the "Xinjiang Primary and Secondary School Party Building and Ideological and Political Work Innovation and Development Center", "Autonomous Region Special Education Training Resource Center" and "Forging the Chinese Nation Community Consciousness Research and Practice Cultivation Base" are research centers and bases established by the autonomous region in our school, and there are 4 school-level key research centers and bases. Two professional journals are published regularly, among which the "Journal of Xinjiang Education Institute (Chinese Edition)" was selected as the "National Excellent Social Science Journals of Colleges and Universities". From 2021 to 2023, teachers of the school published 528 academic papers, including 23 high-level journal papers; the school has 288 scientific research projects, including 6 national projects, 15 provincial and ministerial projects, 21 bureau-level projects, 140 school-level projects, 5 horizontal projects, and 101 projects issued by the autonomous region's scientific research institutions in our school. From 2019 to 2023, more than 117 scientific research awards at or above the school level were obtained. The school has rich experience in post-employment training, good teaching staff and venue conditions, and obvious traditional advantages. The school is a base and center for the training of preschool teachers, primary and secondary school teachers, and education management cadres in Xinjiang. Xinjiang Primary and Secondary School Teachers Continuing Education Center, Xinjiang Education Management Cadre Training Center, Xinjiang Preschool Education Research Center, Xinjiang Primary and Secondary School Party Building and Ideological and Political Work Innovation and Development Center, Xinjiang Primary and Secondary School Teachers Computer Training and Assessment Center are all affiliated with our school. The school has formed a training alliance with 14 prefectures and cities in the autonomous region, and has vigorously cooperated with industries and enterprises in preschool education, information technology, tourism and other aspects. The annual average training volume remains at about 15,000 people, and the training pattern of serving the grassroots, facing the industry and radiating the whole region has been further consolidated. For a long time, the school has given full play to the role of the training base and has trained a large number of outstanding talents with both political integrity and ability for Xinjiang. The school runs an experimental primary school that is well-known in the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains, and plays a leading role in the basic education work of the autonomous region. With the continuous improvement of the school's operating conditions, especially the commissioning of the new campus, the school's development has stood at a new historical starting point.
