Jieyang Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1999. It is located in Jieyang, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, a historical and cultural city in Guangdong Province, and the main battlefield of the eastern wing of the Guangdong Coastal Economic Belt. It is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, registered by the Ministry of Education, and sponsored by the Jieyang Municipal People's Government. Since its establishment, the school has been adhering to the school motto of "Sincerity, Teaching, Erudition, and Practicality", with the school philosophy of "establishing morality and strengthening skills, strengthening schools with talents, and serving the local area", and with the school positioning of "based in Jieyang, radiating to eastern Guangdong, and facing Guangdong", striving to build a high-level and distinctive higher vocational college, to build a vibrant ancient city and coastal new city suitable for living, working and traveling in Jieyang City, and to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents for the industrial city on the coastal economic belt. The school covers an area of 586.826 acres and has a construction area of about 131,000 square meters. In the past five years, the overall employment rate of graduates has remained above 95.00%. The school currently has 439 faculty and staff, including 6 with senior professional titles, 78 with associate senior professional titles, 3 with doctoral degrees, 8 students pursuing doctoral degrees while working, 242 with master's degrees, 167 teachers with "dual-qualified" qualities, and 1 provincial doctoral workstation approved. 7 people have been selected as school-level training targets of the "Thousand, Hundred, and Ten Projects", 1 master of the municipal skill master studio, 7 municipal outstanding experts and top talents, and 3 municipal propaganda, ideology and culture talents; 1 person was selected for the provincial "Special Support Plan" youth cultural talent project; 1 provincial professional leader and 1 high-level talent trained under the provincial "Sailing Plan", both of whom are the only candidates for higher vocational colleges in eastern Guangdong in the current batch. Students have won 14 national vocational skills competition awards, 186 provincial vocational skills competition awards, and 24 provincial college student innovation and entrepreneurship training program projects.
