Lianyungang Vocational and Technical College, formerly Lianyungang Vocational University, was established in February 1983 with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and took the lead in raising the banner of "higher vocational education" in the country. In March 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Lianyungang Vocational and Technical College was established on the basis of Lianyungang Vocational University and Lianyungang Vocational and Technical Education Center. In 2008, the school moved into the Lianyungang Science and Education Park and built a beautiful campus of 1,000 acres. Entering the new era, the school has a high-level position and a layout, and has clearly defined the goal of "creating a double-high college and creating an applied undergraduate". It covers an area of 1,150 acres and a building area of 350,000 square meters. There are more than 600 faculty and staff and more than 14,000 full-time undergraduate and junior college students. There are 11 teaching units including the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Materials and Chemical Engineering (School of Pharmaceutical Engineering), the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Business, the School of Art and Tourism, the School of Public Administration, the School of Foreign Languages (School of International Exchange and Cooperation), the School of Continuing Education, the School of Marxism, and the Department of Basic Courses (Department of Public Sports). The school thoroughly implements the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on running an education that satisfies the people, adheres to serving the local area, closely connects with the industry, continues to deepen reforms, and improves the level of education. More than 40 majors are offered, logistics management and pharmaceutical production technology are national key construction majors, and four majors including construction engineering technology, pharmaceutical production technology, numerical control technology application, and computer information management are provincial characteristic majors. Computer application technology, pharmaceutical production technology, and construction engineering technology are provincial key construction professional groups, marketing and tourism management are provincial key majors, and pharmaceutical production technology and construction engineering technology are provincial high-level backbone majors. Build a modern vocational education system to cultivate 10 "4+0" undergraduate programs, "3+2" segmented training programs for higher vocational education and applied undergraduate education, and "3+2" international cooperation undergraduate programs. There are 2 national training bases, 9 provincial training bases (industry-education integration platform, engineering technology center, etc.), and 1 national vocational skills appraisal institute. The school deepens the linkage between government, school, industry and enterprises, and comprehensively promotes collaborative education. Deeply promote the new model of "college + park + enterprise" of industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, build 4 industrial colleges such as Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry College and Lianyungang New Medicine Industry College, and Lianyungang Green Chemical Industry-Education Consortium has been approved as a provincial-level municipal industry-education consortium. There are more than 200 close-knit school-enterprise cooperation enterprises, 6 on-campus industry-education integration enterprises, and enterprises have invested more than 70 million yuan. Jointly build a provincial "biomedical industry-education integration center" with Zhengda Tianqing and others. Invest more than 120 million yuan to create a digital intelligent innovation training base integrating industry-education integration, integrating "digital intelligence empowerment" petrochemical industry chain simulation training center, intelligent manufacturing training center, artificial intelligence (AI) technology practice center, JD Digital Business Industry College, digital intelligence construction and green construction practice center.
