Hangzhou Wanxiang Vocational and Technical College is a full-time higher vocational and technical college approved by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province and jointly organized by the People's Government of Hangzhou City and the famous enterprise Wanxiang Group. It adheres to the international, modern, entrepreneurial school-running orientation and the principle of public welfare and non-profit school-running. It has a history of nearly 70 years and has trained more than 40,000 talents from all walks of life for the society. It is located in Hangzhou, which is known as the paradise on earth, in the Xixi Valley that Hangzhou City has focused on building, adjacent to the Xixi National Wetland Park, with convenient transportation and pleasant environment. The college has 3 campuses, covering a total area of about 260 acres and a total construction area of more than 180,000 square meters. There are currently more than 6,600 full-time students. Focusing on the professional positioning of "serving new intelligent manufacturing and empowering health and wellness tourism", the college takes the national backbone major clothing design and technology, provincial (municipal) characteristic major green food production and inspection, rehabilitation engineering technology and other majors as the guide, and focuses on cultivating high-quality talents in the application of intelligent networking and artificial intelligence new technologies to intelligent manufacturing, transportation management and vehicle manufacturing in the intelligent technology professional group; cultivates a health and wellness tourism professional group with high-end talents with international vision in health, wellness, travel and other aspects to serve the big health and tourism industries; cultivates a design and creativity professional group that is in line with the international strategy of building Hangzhou into a fashion capital and a city of quality, serves and leads the development of the fashion and entrepreneurship industry chain, and has fashion makers who are creative, good at design, entrepreneurial and business-savvy; cultivates a digital trade professional group that serves internationalization, has creative digital capabilities, and is compound and extroverted international new business talents, and has four major professional groups, with a total of 22 higher vocational majors (including professional directions). In 2020, the International Trade Practice Professional Group was approved as a "Zhejiang Province High-level Professional Group" project, which is a testimony to the achievements of our college's professional construction and development during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, marking that our college has entered the forefront of the province's vocational education "double high" construction. In addition, the college also has 2 provincial-level advantageous construction majors, 4 provincial-level characteristic construction majors, 5 municipal-level characteristic (key) construction majors, 1 municipal new professional group and 1 new major; 1 vocational education training base supported by the central government, 6 provincial-level demonstration (key) construction training bases, and 5 municipal-level key construction training bases. The course "Advanced Application of Office Software" was rated as a national high-quality online open course by the Ministry of Education. The college has 2 national teaching committee high-quality courses, 9 provincial-level high-quality courses (online high-quality courses), and 20 municipal-level high-quality courses; 10 provincial colleges and universities key construction textbooks; 30 provincial-level teaching reform projects (including the New Century Education and Teaching Reform Project, the Provincial Higher Education Teaching Reform Project, the Classroom Teaching Reform Project, and the Thirteenth Five-Year Teaching Reform Project). Won 2 first prizes in Zhejiang Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards. The college comprehensively strengthens the party's leadership and ideological and political work, pays attention to cultural education, and the "Love Classroom" was selected as one of the first batch of characteristic brands of party building in Zhejiang universities in 2019; the first party branch of the administrative party general branch and the second party branch of the health tourism department party general branch were rated as "model party branches" by the Zhejiang Provincial Education Working Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Three Creation Education and Research Center won the "Zhejiang Province Three Education Post Advanced Collective" in 2019-2020. The college adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, uses the spirit of three creations to provide meaningful education, and gradually cultivates four "golden business cards" of international education, holistic development education, beautiful education, and three creation education. The college has built an effective platform for students to demonstrate their talents. Students have won many awards in scientific and technological innovation, cultural and sports competitions, skills demonstrations and other activities, fully demonstrating the strong strength and good mental outlook of our students. In the past three years, students have participated in various skill competitions and won a total of 185 awards at the provincial level or above. Among them, there are 9 national awards and 33 provincial first prizes or above. There are about 300 faculty members, including 180 full-time teachers, 60 of whom have senior professional titles, accounting for 33.3%; 143 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees, accounting for 79.4%; and 140 "double-qualified" teachers, accounting for 77.8% of full-time teachers. In addition, there is one provincial excellent teaching team, three provincial college excellent teachers, 12 provincial professional leaders, five provincial new teachers, one municipal excellent innovation team, and 11 municipal excellent teachers. The college undertakes the "100,000 People Studying in China" foreign exchange project of the China-US Head of State Plan. In 8 years, it has received 58 study groups and 1,409 American teachers and students. Wanxiang Group established the "Lu Guanqiu Education Award" in the college to reward outstanding teachers and students. Every year, the college sends a large number of teachers and management backbones to Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States for benchmarking inspections; selects outstanding students to study in the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong and other places, and accepts students from Singapore and other places to visit our college. In the graduate follow-up survey sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education launched in 2014, the college ranked first among private higher vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province for four consecutive years in terms of employment rate, employment quality, job competence and entrepreneurial prospects, satisfaction with the alma mater, and employer satisfaction. Among them, the "2015 Zhejiang University Graduate Career Development Status and Talent Training Quality Survey Report" shows that among the 47 higher vocational colleges in the province, the college ranks 4th in career competence and entrepreneurial prospects, and 9th in employment quality. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 98%. In 2020, it was rated "B" in the annual teaching quality assessment organized by the Provincial Department of Education, and entered the second echelon of higher vocational colleges in the province. In the course of running schools for many years, the college has adhered to the school motto of "Mingde, Shensi, Chongshi, and Innovation", and has formed a good teaching style, learning style, and school spirit.
