Beijing Health Vocational College is a public full-time general college approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government in 2012 and registered by the Ministry of Education of China. It focuses on training higher health vocational and technical personnel at the junior college level. It is now affiliated to the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and is guided by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission in terms of education. The school was established on the basis of the merger of the former Beijing Health School, the former Beijing Nursing School, and the former Beijing School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Its history can be traced back to the 1920s (1929). The school has four departments and three divisions, including the Department of Nursing, the Department of Pharmacy, the Department of Medical Technology, the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Department of Cultural Foundations, the Department of Ideological and Political Teaching, and the Department of Basic Medicine. The school currently has 13 clinical teaching hospitals, including Beijing Century Altar Hospital, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Beijing Children's Hospital, Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Beijing Chest Hospital, Beijing Geriatric Hospital, Beijing Huilongguan Hospital and Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics, as well as two teaching bases and 20 internship bases, namely Beijing Tongzhou District Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and Beijing Tongzhou District Maternal and Child Health Hospital. At the same time, it also cooperates with nearly 100 medical and health institutions, pharmaceutical companies and research institutions of all levels in Beijing to form a talent training model of "close cooperation, co-education and sharing of three-stage integration of colleges and universities", which fundamentally guarantees the quality of education and teaching. The school currently has 6,453 students and 591 faculty and staff. At present, the school is "one school and three locations". The first campus of the school is located at No. 12, Dadou Road, Xiapodian Village, Doudian Town, Fangshan District (renting the campus of Beijing Network Vocational College), the second campus is located at No. 24, Yudaihexi Street, Tongzhou District, and the third campus is located at No. 128, Jiukeshu East Road, Tongzhou District (registered place of legal person). The school currently has 11 majors, 6 majors of pharmacy, drug quality and safety, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, oral medicine technology, and health information management are set up in the first campus, 2 majors of nursing and midwifery are set up in the second campus, and 3 majors of Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, and rehabilitation therapy technology are set up in the third campus. Nursing and pharmacy majors are the first batch of demonstration majors in health services in vocational colleges across the country and key majors in the innovation and development action plan of the Ministry of Education. The three majors of nursing, pharmacy, and Chinese medicine have been selected into the characteristic high-level key professional construction project of Beijing vocational colleges. The majors of medical laboratory technology and medical imaging technology have been selected into the innovation team construction project of Beijing vocational colleges. The school has complete teaching equipment and facilities. It has professional training bases such as nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, oral medicine technology, health information management, traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, rehabilitation therapy technology, as well as teaching laboratories and scientific research innovation laboratories, with a construction area of more than 10,000 square meters, providing strong support for the school's practical teaching and scientific research. Among them, the nursing training base has been funded by the Ministry of Education's key construction project for vocational school training bases, and the pharmacy training base is a key construction project for vocational school training bases in Beijing. In recent years, the school's enrollment rate has been 100%, the student employment rate has remained above 98%, and the professional matching rate has remained above 97%. Over the years, the school has trained more than 100,000 health professionals for the medical and health industry in Beijing, of which nursing talents account for more than 60% of the training of such technical talents in Beijing. Our nursing graduates Chen Zheng and Wang Kerong won the 40th and 44th Nightingale Medals respectively, winning honors for the school. In recent years, the school has won the honorary titles of "Beijing Excellent Unit for Ideological and Political Work", "Beijing March 8 Red Flag Collective", "Capital Civilized Unit Model", "Beijing Advanced Vocational Education Unit", "Capital Civilized Unit" and so on. Among the school's in-service faculty and staff, there are 3 outstanding teachers in Beijing, 2 famous teachers of vocational education in Beijing vocational colleges, 4 professional leaders of Beijing vocational colleges, 4 specially appointed experts of Beijing vocational colleges, 39 outstanding young backbone teachers of Beijing vocational colleges, 1 person won the second Beijing Higher Education Youth Teaching Master Award, 8 people entered the Beijing Higher Education Youth Talent Program, 1 person is the successor of a famous old Chinese medicine doctor, and 2 professional innovation teams of Beijing vocational colleges. Jin Shiyuan, a representative of our school's outstanding teachers, is the founder of the school's traditional Chinese medicine major. He won the honorary title of "National Medical Master", the National Outstanding Contribution Award for Traditional Chinese Medicine, and enjoys special government subsidies. He has trained a large number of outstanding professional and technical talents for the traditional Chinese medicine industry. The school has a Jin Shiyuan National Medical Master Studio. On the new journey of the second centenary goal, the school will adhere to the socialist direction of running schools, follow the school-running purpose of "establishing morality and educating people, people-oriented, moral education first, and quality first", and take "virtue, learning, benevolence, and practice" as the school motto.
