The school was established by the merger and restructuring of Chongqing Chemical Workers University and Chongqing Chemical Medical Technician College, and was founded in 1964. The school currently has two campuses, Jiangbei and Changshou. The Jiangbei campus is located in the Guanyinqiao business district of the national 4A-level urban tourist area, and the Changshou campus is located in the Bodhi Mountain Cultural Park, a national 4A-level tourist scenic spot. The school covers an area of nearly 600 acres, with a construction area of more than 200,000 square meters and more than 13,000 students.
