Tongling Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college organized by the Tongling Municipal Government. The college adheres to the school-running orientation of being based in Tongling, serving Wanjiang, and facing the Yangtze River Delta. It takes serving the industrial transformation and upgrading and economic and social development of Tongling as the foundation of the school and the key to strengthening the school. With vocational education at the junior college level as the main body, it widely carries out vocational skills training and actively creates undergraduate vocational education. The college has become a local skill-based high-level university construction college in Anhui Province, the first batch of 1+X certificate pilot colleges in the country, Anhui Province College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration School, Anhui Province School-Enterprise Cooperation Demonstration School, Anhui Province "Three-All Education" Comprehensive Reform Pilot School, and was approved to carry out "junior college to undergraduate" joint training with Tongling College in 2021. The college covers an area of 1,051 acres and a building area of 310,000 square meters (including under construction). There are currently 12,690 full-time students, 5,375 continuing education students, and 283 jointly trained undergraduates. There are 415 faculty members, including 7 doctoral students, 116 senior professional titles, 182 provincial "double-qualified" teachers, 39 provincial high-level teaching teams, provincial professional leaders, provincial teaching masters, and provincial new teachers. The college offers 38 majors, including industrial robot technology, applied electronic technology, electrical automation technology, intelligent control technology, digital design and production technology, e-commerce, and big data technology, including 2 national majors, 2 central finance-supported majors, 5 provincial high-level majors (groups), and 13 provincial characteristic and comprehensive reform pilot majors, forming five major professional groups, including "electronic information, intelligent manufacturing, Corning maintenance, cultural creativity, and Internet + commerce". The TV University offers 52 undergraduate majors and 11 junior college majors, and has won the title of "Advanced School-Running Unit" of Anhui TV University for 8 consecutive years. Adhering to the principle of cultivating talents based on the needs of enterprises, the school continues to deepen the linkage between enrollment and employment, and the integration of training and internship. The school has built a comprehensive training center with a total area of 50,000 square meters and 107 experimental training rooms, including 1 training base supported by the central government, 6 provincial demonstration experimental training rooms, and 3 skill master studios, with equipment worth 1.400 million yuan. More than 200 school-enterprise cooperation bases have been built with many enterprises inside and outside the province. In Tongling City, more than 30 enterprises such as Tongling Nonferrous Metals, Tongling Xuchuang, and Fulide have carried out in-depth dual-education such as modern industrial colleges, enterprise apprenticeships, and order class training. 25 majors have carried out 20 1+X certificate pilots. In Tongling City, there are 1 national key school-enterprise co-construction production training base, 5 provincial demonstration internship training bases, 8 provincial school-enterprise cooperation practice education bases, and 2 provincial school-enterprise cooperation demonstration training centers. It took the lead in establishing the Tongling Copper Art Industry Development and Education Alliance and the Tongling Copper Sculpture Art Research Institute. It has held three consecutive cross-strait (Tongling) copper sculpture art college student training summer camps. The copper handicraft design and production major has carried out "great country craftsman" training with local copper art enterprises. The college has become a model school for school-enterprise cooperation in Anhui Province. The college uses teachers as a guarantee to create "dual teachers" of morality and ability. In the past three years, the college has introduced 58 professional and technical talents, 13 teachers have received support from provincial key talent projects, 4 teachers have studied for doctoral degrees, 2 teachers have become provincial skill masters, 2 teachers have become municipal skill masters, 1 teacher has become a Jianghuai master craftsman, and 9 teachers have become the first batch of experts in the municipal social science expert database; 30 provincial key scientific research projects have been approved and more than 400 academic papers have been published. Teachers won the second prize and the third prize in the national teaching ability competition once, and 21 awards in the provincial teaching ability competition. The Nursing Home (Sunshine Community Health Service Center) is a provincial medical and nursing demonstration center and the first batch of "Quality Service Grassroots" standard units in Tongling City. The Training Department is a social training evaluation organization approved by the human resources and social security department. It has jointly established a social training alliance for improving professional capabilities with many provincial and municipal social training organizations. It has been awarded the Tongling Public Training Center, Tongling Elderly Care Training Base, and Tongling Forklift Examination Site, and has more than 70 skill training and appraisal projects. In the past five years, the average annual scale of skill training and continuing education has exceeded 27,000 people.
